00:00 OBC fired a bill against Muslim women.

00:05 OBC questioned the quota of Muslim women in the bill.

00:08 In Janaba, Muslim women were only 7% and in Chattisgarh 0.7%.

00:14 OBC demanded Muslim quota in the bill.

00:18 On behalf of my party, I stand to oppose this legislation.

00:23 The justification given for this legislation is to ensure that more women get elected in the parliament and state assemblies.

00:33 If that is the justification, why is that justification not being extended to the OBC women and to the Muslim women?

00:42 Where their representation in this August House is minimal, very less.

00:47 Secondly, we know that Muslim women are 7% of the population, but in this Lok Sabha, their representation is only 0.7%.

00:56 We know for a fact that the annual dropout rate of Muslim girls is almost 19%, while it is 12% for other women.

01:03 Nearly half of the Muslim women are illiterate.

01:06 This Modi government wants increased representation for Savarna women.

01:11 They don't want representation for OBC women and for Muslim women.

01:15 690 women MPs have been elected till the 17th Lok Sabha and out of this 690, only 25 have come from the Muslim community.

01:24 And when I hear that reservation cannot be given on religious grounds, what is 1950 presidential order?

01:37 Muslim women face double discrimination against being as a woman and as a Muslim also.

02:18 Is this good for our country, the political isolation of Muslims?

02:22 Is this good for our country? No. It is not at all good.

02:25 Is this an inclusive legislation? No. It is an exclusive legislation.

02:29 Those people who are already represented in the August House, sir.

02:31 And in conclusion I would say, I would blame Sardar Patel and Nehru for deceiving the minorities in the Constituent Assembly.

02:39 Had they been honest, the Muslim representation would have been higher over here.
