00:00 Women Reservation Bill was passed by the Parliament by the Women MPs.

00:04 The MPs of the ruling party have expressed their gratitude.

00:07 The opposition MPs have said that the bill is not good enough to be passed by the Muslim quota.

00:12 They have doubts about the bill.

00:15 The population is over 50%.

00:19 In the Parliament, the other backward classes are only 22%.

00:22 We had also put an amendment for Muslim women.

00:27 Only 4% of the population are Muslim women.

00:30 So, there should be representation of Muslim women.

00:32 The purpose of the bill is to give them a chance in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies.

00:38 If there is no representation of Muslim women, then how will it work?

00:40 I think that the women who have waited till now,

00:44 have been successful.

00:46 And the credit goes to Modi ji.

00:48 Our Sikander is Modi ji for the women of this country.

00:51 Today, he won.

00:52 He won the women's election with a lot of luck.

00:57 And he passed the bill.

00:58 All the women had this confidence.

01:01 If he passes the bill, it will be passed.

01:03 And the majority of the women have passed the bill.

01:19 but a solution that women in our country were waiting for decades.

01:22 What a better way to begin parliamentary innings for any parliamentarian

01:27 than with the passage of a bill that scores of women were waiting for.

01:33 It is yet to pass in the Rajya Sabha, I know.

01:36 But as a Lok Sabha member, I am extremely privileged to have not only viewed history,

01:41 but also participate in the same.

01:43 I today fondly recall the contributions of Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji,

01:48 Sushma Swaraj ji, Sumitra Mahajan ji, Bal Apte ji.

01:53 And I am extremely grateful.

01:55 How is India changing through democracy?

01:58 When the government's intentions and policies are clear,

02:02 and an influential leader like Narendra Modi is there, then this work is done.

02:05 It was pending since the 1920s.

02:07 So the daughter of India flies the Air Force plane,

02:10 works in TV, becomes a commission officer in the army,

02:13 a permanent commission, then moves ahead in sports.

02:16 Now she will move the country forward as an MP and MLA.

02:21 We had an opportunity to make history.

02:25 But I would still say that all political parties have contributed to this.

02:32 And I hope that this will be unanimously passed in the Rajya Sabha,
