00:23 Anselmo Tagalog Jr. fought in a boxing match last Sunday in Davao del Sur.

00:31 It was part of the 71st day of the country's independence.

00:36 It was Anselmo's first fight.

00:38 The amateur boxer was cornered several times but he continued to fight.

00:42 But after three rounds, Anselmo lost.

00:49 After a few hours of fighting, Anselmo died.

00:53 He was immediately taken to a private hospital in Digos City.

00:56 He was diagnosed with blood clots in the back of his head.

01:01 He was transferred to a hospital in Davao City where he was operated on early Wednesday.
