00:03 Hi.
00:08 I'm Randy Vance.
00:09 Thanks for joining me today on my dock.
00:11 Actually, we've left the dock today
00:13 to enjoy some of the cooler weather and a boat ride.
00:16 I want to talk to you today about boating safety
00:18 and the most important piece of equipment
00:20 that you need to stay safe, and that's
00:22 a life jacket like this one.
00:24 Now, Mustang Survival has been in the business
00:27 of providing safety to the military, to commercial
00:30 and industrial applications, and of course,
00:32 millions of recreational boaters for decades,
00:35 and they're good at it.
00:37 Inflatable life jackets have had a must-have status
00:40 among boaters for about a decade,
00:42 and Mustang added them 10 years ago, the MIT model
00:45 in particular.
00:47 That device eliminates the bulky, foldable bladders
00:51 that have such an awkward folding pattern.
00:53 Instead, they're nice and trim, like this one.
00:56 And when it's time to repack them,
00:58 you simply fold the lapels over.
01:01 Now, the new MIT models are convertible,
01:04 and you simply convert them by changing the gray cylinder
01:07 cover for a yellow one.
01:09 That one eliminates the automatic mechanism inside,
01:13 and it'll only inflate manually.
01:15 What's the advantage to that?
01:17 Say you're out in the ocean, and you're fishing
01:19 or you're cruising.
01:20 You want to have an automatic system there.
01:23 You're not likely to get wet unless it's an emergency.
01:25 Say you come inshore, and you want
01:27 to go kayaking or J-boat sailboat racing.
01:30 Those are inherently wet sports.
01:32 Your jacket's going to get wet, and you don't want it to inflate
01:35 unless you need it to.
01:37 That's where you need the manual setup.
01:39 With the MIT convertible jackets,
01:42 you can cover both sports simply by changing the mechanism
01:46 inside the lapel.
01:48 The Mustang MIT system comes in three different buoyancy
01:52 levels.
01:53 Now, the MIT70 is the most trim life jacket
01:57 that comes in the Mustang system.
01:59 It provides 15.8 pounds of buoyancy,
02:02 and it's ideal for inshore and inland conditions
02:05 when rescue is nearby.
02:08 Now, the MIT100 provides 28 pounds of buoyancy
02:11 when deployed.
02:13 This is ideal for inshore and offshore applications
02:16 in sight of land, and it gives you more airway protection.
02:22 Now, the MIT150 provides 38 pounds of buoyancy,
02:26 and it's ideal for colder weather
02:28 when you're wearing more layers of clothing or a rain suit
02:31 in warmer weather, and it offers you the most airway protection.
02:36 MIT's new convertible inflators make
02:39 arming these devices easier than ever before.
02:42 They're more user-friendly, more versatile,
02:45 and let you go from kayak to powerboat to offshore.
02:49 I'm Randy Vance from Mustang Survival.
02:52 Thanks for joining me on my dock.
