Hungarian circus festival brings performers Together!

The festival aims to highlight the solidarity needed among members of the human race to fight current challenges such as climate change and war.

00:00 Unusual, exciting, innovative. Over four days, four contemporary circus performers will appear

00:07 in public in the Hungarian city of Veszprem. The event, called "Together", is part of the

00:12 Veszprem Ballaton 2023 European Capital of Culture programme. The performances were also

00:18 recently presented in Elifszéna, a Greek town that is also this year's European Capital

00:23 of Culture.

00:24 We had the chance to have this link with two historical cities. So Elifszéna is a historical

00:31 city, it's like the city of the Elifszénian mysteries. Now we are coming here to relive

00:38 our history.

00:39 Besides the Hungarians, Ukrainian, Greek and Spanish circus artists are also taking part.

00:59 think that rebellion is shared in Europe, for artists actually. So that's something

01:15 The current performance was just one of the performances of the Circus Art Series, which

01:20 will close on the 23rd of September in the big finale in the city centre.
