00:00 Hey guys, it's Sydney Sweeney and I'm going to give Marie Claire a personal look into
00:04 my little library.
00:06 Welcome to Shelf Portrait.
00:09 So some of the books I've read recently during quarantine have been We Used to Be Friends
00:20 by Amy Spaulding, which is about two friends who kind of lose their friendship and it's
00:27 told in dual timelines and so you kind of put the different pieces together as you read.
00:34 I love reading either in my bedroom or sitting outside somewhere.
00:40 I constantly read The Care and Keeping of You.
00:44 It's a book where girls learn about their changing bodies and like growing up and I
00:49 was obsessed with reading it and trying to figure out what the hell is going to happen.
00:55 Getting But Better by Christine Uccio.
00:58 It's about a girl who lies to her parents to follow her dream of becoming a writer in
01:03 Europe and she falls in love with a boy but things don't go the way that she wants and
01:10 she's forced to go back home but then like we all wish that we could do she gets a second
01:16 chance and she meets a fairy godmother and she gets to retry everything and do it all
01:23 again for better.
01:26 They Wish They Were Us by Jessica Goodman.
01:29 This is something I highly recommend.
01:32 Not only is it an amazing book but I am actually going to be producing this into a limited
01:37 series with my company 50/50 Films and I partnered with Jean-Marc Vallee and Nathan Ross's Crazy
01:43 Rose.
01:44 I'm going to play Jill and Kalzi will be playing Rachel so it's a great read.
01:51 It's a murder mystery and it's a lot of fun.
01:55 I have definitely thought about writing a book.
01:58 I constantly try to write the first sentence and I don't really know where to start.
02:02 When I read I always have a notebook with me and I write in the notebook and I never
02:07 really write in the actual book though.
02:09 I would love to see The Grace Year by Kim Lajet in Turned Into A Movie.
02:16 It's like a YA handmade style and it's unbelievable.
02:24 Down on my bottom two shelves I have books that I read in school.
02:31 They are all books that I felt like I really learned something from and I hope that I will
02:36 read sometime again.
02:37 There's this one book called Entrepreneurship and it's basically teaching and helping you
02:45 learn how to manage ideas within your own organization or within yourself.
02:53 I really felt like I learned a lot from this and it's a great read and for anyone doing
02:58 anything I think you can take away a lot from it.
03:04 Thank you for watching Shelf Portrait and don't forget to watch Nocturne.
