00:06 It's the most powerful type of music.

01:12 I grew up in church.
01:14 I actually grew up Catholic, and now I'm Methodist.
01:18 It's great to be able to do a movie with beautiful music,
01:22 and our choir was totally different from this choir
01:25 that we're in in the movie.
01:27 I didn't sing in that choir until I got about 12,
01:30 and then we got a deal and I moved away,
01:32 so I never got a chance to really sing in the choir.
01:35 I've always loved it, and it's so beautiful,
01:38 so many people's voices combined,
01:40 and now I can live that, so it's great! laughs

02:10 I take quick showers, not luxurious baths.
02:13 I don't get pedicures and manicures as often as I should.

02:35 She's judged by a lot of the church people
02:38 because she sings at a jazz club and she has a child,
02:41 and it's something that singing,
02:45 the music that I sing, I have to go through.
02:47 Sometimes people don't want to acknowledge your Christianity,
02:51 or they want to say that, you know,
02:52 you don't believe in God because you sing secular music.

03:19 So that has always been important to me,
03:21 and now I can do more than one song.
