00:32 You go into the ring of honor with a former colleague of mine, Boomer Esiason.
00:37 So tell me, what was that moment like?
00:40 You walking down as the half is about to end, you and your family and your family and friends,
00:47 you start to walk down.
00:49 And now all of a sudden, you're on the field.
00:51 And you start to get a little que like, "Oh, man, this thing about to happen."

00:58 I kept thinking about happy thoughts.
01:01 And what I tried not to do, I tried not to go back to everything it took to get to this
01:06 point because if I thought about everything it took to get to this point as far as making
01:11 it to and getting that phone call from Mike Brown and then all the ups and downs throughout
01:17 my career, then the tears would have started flowing.
01:20 I thought happy thoughts.
01:21 I kept looking at my kids.
01:22 I kept looking at the crowd, the focus and keep myself locked in so I don't cry.
01:27 But that moment I took it all in, I enjoyed it.

01:37 I'm surprised also knowing how close you were to your mom and grandmother and how special

01:54 I was able to compartmentalize mama, everything else that was bad, the journey to get to this
02:02 point, happy thoughts, staring the crowd, make eye contact, one person in the crowd

02:11 I didn't want to break down in that moment even though it would have been tears of joy,
02:15 it would have been tears of sadness because I'm thinking about my mama not here.

02:19 I'm thinking about what's going to happen behind closed doors.
