00:00 I don't think Larson's giving away races, but I think he misses opportunities to win.
00:05 And I went back and looked just this year.
00:06 If we go Phoenix, I'm going to look at my list.
00:08 Phoenix with William Byron, Darlington with Chastain, Pocono in Kansas with Denny, and
00:13 then Texas with Baba.
00:14 Puts himself in a position to not win the race.
00:17 He doesn't put himself in a position to win the race.
00:20 And there's a difference in that when you drive a race car.
00:23 So I look at it and I think, that's not a giveaway.
00:26 That's just bad decision making.
00:28 That's just poor decision making in those cases.
00:31 So I would like to see him up his game a little bit.
00:34 And listen, this is Kyle Petty telling a champion to up his game.
00:38 But I would like to see him mature enough to know and recognize when that situation
00:43 comes.
00:44 KP, I couldn't agree with you more.
00:46 I think Kyle Larson's a champion.
00:48 He's won 22 races.
00:49 He's 11 years in the Cup, right?
00:52 If he continued for another 11, let's say he just has two wins a year like he has been
00:56 right now, that's 44.
00:59 That's a career that anyone in the garage would love to have, plus a championship.
01:03 He's going to win a couple more.
01:05 But you look even at last year, right?
01:07 He took himself out of the chance for the championship last year at the Royal Bowl.
01:13 And I feel like he's done a lot better job this year not putting himself in those situations.
01:17 But now it's the competition.
01:18 They're like, we know you're Superman, and we're not going to let you just walk the dog
01:22 on us.
01:23 So is Kyle Larson giving up chances to win?
01:26 No, but is he losing chances to win?
01:28 Yes, absolutely.
