00:00 Great to see you.
00:01 Jeff, I'm a huge fan.
00:02 I'm a Stern fan, so I appreciate what you do for the Stern Show.
00:04 Anybody who's a Stern fan, to me, they get it.
00:06 Yes, I get it.
00:07 You, to me, have one of the best jobs in TV.
00:09 I do.
00:10 How did you get that job?
00:11 I wanted it.
00:12 For real, wanted it.
00:13 The second I heard about it, Mark Burnett was on the radio, and he was talking about
00:17 this show where he was going to dump a bunch of people on an island, and they had to vote
00:21 each other out.
00:22 And I literally called my agent, and I said, "There's a show called Survivor."
00:26 And he goes, "Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:27 Let me look into it."
00:28 And I never stopped thinking about it from that minute.
00:30 And when I got the job, it was the best day of my career, and it still is.
00:34 And I still love it.
00:35 It's one of the best.
00:36 How many auditions do you have to go for for that role?
00:38 You know, there's not even an audition.
00:39 It was a meeting.
00:40 I met with Mark Burnett, and he talked the whole time.
00:43 I was like, "What the fuck?
00:44 I don't get to say anything."
00:45 And at the end, I was like, "Hey, wait.
00:48 Look.
00:49 I'm a student of the human condition.
00:50 I'm a writer.
00:51 I've been in therapy.
00:52 I get this show."
00:53 And he said, "So nice to meet you."
00:54 And I was like, "What?"
00:55 And then six months later, I got a call saying, "You're in the running."
01:00 Over the years, you guys have chosen different islands to shoot at.
01:02 What's been your favorite place?
01:03 Obviously, you've been at the same place for a lot of years.
01:05 But you're one of the places like, "I don't need to go back to that place.
01:08 It's a hard place to kind of chill out for."
01:11 The Marquesas Islands.
01:12 Why is that?
01:13 The no-nos.
01:14 These no-seems.
01:15 These little bugs.
01:16 Oh, they're the worst.
01:17 They're everywhere.
01:18 Now, maybe it's not that way today.
01:21 The people there are beautiful, but the Marquesas Islands was the hardest shoot for us because
01:25 of that.
01:26 But everywhere else we've been, I'd go back in a second because we've been to some amazing
01:30 places.
01:31 Yeah, yeah.
01:32 Last question.
01:33 Do you guys give SPF?
01:35 What SPF are you using?
01:36 And what the contestants, what SPF are they using?
01:39 Are they given SPF because it is tough?
01:40 Yes.
01:41 We do give them sunscreen and bug spray.
01:44 It still doesn't help.
01:45 I mean, the sunscreen helps a little.
01:47 The bug spray doesn't help a lot.
01:48 They still get eaten alive.
01:51 But yeah, everybody's wearing sunscreen.
01:53 I'm the most lathered up person out there.
01:56 I put it everywhere.
01:57 But how do you do with the makeup?
01:58 Because you look good.
01:59 You always look great.
02:00 So when we're watching on TV, are you oily?
02:01 I'm on sunscreen.
02:02 Yeah, I'm oily and sweaty.
02:03 There's really not that much makeup.
02:06 It's a funny, you would think it's a TV show, but it's 110 degrees.
02:11 You can't really do a lot of makeup.
02:13 You can put a little on, but it sweats off.
02:15 I only care about sunscreen.
02:18 I really don't even care anymore how I look.
02:20 I've accepted it.
02:22 That's what you look like on Survivor.
