00:00 The Community and Public Sector Union has announced it will knock back an APS-wide pay
00:04 deal of 11.2 per cent over three years after it polled more than 15,000 members.
00:10 There was narrow support for the pay package of 51.9 per cent, while 48.1 per cent were
00:15 against it, but the union says this is lukewarm and they can't embrace that deal just yet.
00:21 Public Service Minister Katie Gallagher has meanwhile welcomed that support and said she's
00:25 looking forward to formalising the deal.
00:28 But for the moment, if the union doesn't accept the deal, they'll go ahead and apply to the
00:32 Fair Work Commission for protected action ballots.
00:35 And this could push a deal on APS-wide pay further down the road.
