00:00 So, I want to talk to you about a very interesting topic and this interesting topic is called
00:06 Sharath Pawar.
00:08 I find Sharath Pawar's politics very interesting and very innovative and I will tell you why.
00:15 You see, in the last one month, two months, we have seen that Sharath Pawar has lost the
00:21 sheen as far as, you know, the normal Sharath Pawar is concerned.
00:26 I saw that during that India meeting in Mumbai.
00:30 You know, normally in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Sharath Pawar would be the god who runs everything
00:35 but this time around, surprisingly, it was Uddhav Thackeray who was running the show.
00:41 Sharath Pawar was slightly quiet.
00:44 The Pawars were quiet.
00:46 He was there, his daughter was there.
00:48 I think Jain Patil was also there, if I am not mistaken.
00:52 So the Pawars were quiet.
00:55 So this gave a very clear indication that, you know, the way Pawar used to roar when
00:59 it comes to Maharashtra, that roar somehow is kind of gone less or, you know, that roar
01:07 has lost its base, the way I would put it.
01:11 Now, the point is, what I am going to talk to you about is how is Pawar trying to recover
01:18 this.
01:19 You see, what one should learn, especially students of politics, what one should learn
01:25 is the way Pawar plays his politics.
01:27 See, good, bad, ugly.
01:28 You should appreciate the fact that if somebody is playing, you know, politics to the zenith
01:34 level, you see, this is what you, in advertising, we call it as, you know, using consumer insight.
01:41 This is literally manipulating consumer insight.
01:46 You see, Pawar has ensured that this entire Maharashtra politics revolves around Pawar.
01:52 Well, he very well knows that possibly Uddhav Thackeray, somehow from a popularity point
01:58 of view, is getting bigger than a Sharath Pawar in Maharashtra.
02:02 Definitely he is getting bigger than a Sharath Pawar in Maharashtra.
02:06 But the way he tries to revolve politics around the Pawar family.
02:09 Now, let me tell you, the first thing is he went and inaugurated Exim Power plant in Vasna,
02:16 Chancharwadi in Gujarat with Adani.
02:19 He went and inaugurated.
02:20 He went all the way to Gujarat to inaugurate this with Adani.
02:24 And he said that it was a privilege to inaugurate India's first lacto-ferrin plant Exim Power.
02:30 He said it's a privilege.
02:32 Abhi dekho na, privilege.
02:34 You have, Pawar is supposed to be part of this thing called India Alliance, this alliance
02:39 called India Alliance.
02:40 His closest ally is Congress.
02:42 It has been since almost day one.
02:46 So Congress is talking about Modani and all of that where they are linking Adani to Narendra
02:53 Modi and their politics has been very strongly based on PM Modi's link with Adani.
03:00 That's their politics.
03:01 That the politics has been strongly based on that.
03:04 And while that is happening at one level and while Pawar is one of their closest allies,
03:08 at least that is what it seems to be, Pawar goes and inaugurates with Adani and says that
03:12 listen I am privileged to inaugurate this.
03:15 Whose nose is he rubbing to the ground?
03:19 Isn't he rubbing Rahul Gandhi's nose to the ground?
03:23 Isn't he helping the Bharatiya Janata Party by doing this?
03:26 Now, I am nobody to judge and we should not judge.
03:29 Maybe Sharath Pawar is very close to Mr. Adani, which he is.
03:32 He is very close to Mr. Adani and he has gone to inaugurate a friend's power plant, which
03:38 is fine, which is all good.
03:40 I am looking at it from a political perspective.
03:42 I am looking at it from an imagery perspective.
03:44 Even if it was a best friend, I would rather call and say I am congratulating you.
03:48 You are doing this, sorry, but I will not be able to attend it for political reasons.
03:52 This is what a normal politician would have done, but Pawar did otherwise.
03:56 Pawar went there and even tweeted saying that I endorse this.
04:01 So look at it.
04:02 Just take that situation, keep it aside.
04:04 Pawar back in the news.
04:07 Now Pawar's nephew the other day made a statement that, you know, today I am handling finance,
04:13 tomorrow, God knows.
04:14 But that has become a big news in Maharashtra.
04:17 Everybody says, oh, is he going back to his uncle or are things going to be different?
04:22 So here you have one shot by Pawar where he went with Adani, which was seen as an anti-India
04:28 alliance shot and here you have one shot from Ajit Pawar where he says that I don't know.
04:33 Today I have got this portfolio, tomorrow I don't know.
04:36 So here one-one equal.
04:39 Then again there are rumours, there are very very strong rumours that Sunetra Pawar, which
04:45 is Mr. Ajit Pawar's wife or his son Parth Pawar may stand for election, may stand for
04:52 election against Supriya Sule.
04:54 That makes the rounds.
04:55 Now whether this will happen or not, chances are it may not happen.
04:59 Chances are it may not happen.
05:01 But are these news making the round?
05:04 So what really happened was that Sharath Pawar who has been off-centre of Maharashtra politics
05:10 because of his, you know, because of almost everybody assuming that, you know, he is not,
05:16 one is nobody sure on which side of the spectrum is he in, whether he is with BJP or whether
05:20 he is with India alliance.
05:22 Nobody sure and one could clearly see that in the India alliance meeting also.
05:26 One could clearly see that in the India alliance meeting also because you can't cry wolf everyday,
05:30 can you?
05:31 So, ok, so while he is off-centre of politics, he ensures that he gets himself back into
05:37 the centre of the politics.
05:38 So this is something that is very unique to Sharath Pawar.
05:43 This beautiful manoeuvring of his is very unique to him.
05:47 I mean, it is, while it is very sad that he runs, such a senior politician of India, in
05:52 fact the senior most, one of the senior most politician if I am not mistaken in India,
05:56 you know, completely letting go of ideology and purely choosing opportunity to run his
06:02 politics, all that is pretty sad.
06:04 But the fact is the way Mr. Pawar runs politics, my God, is something, it's next level.
06:11 It's next level of human behaviour, understanding of human behaviour and literally engineering
06:18 human behaviour, voters behaviour or whatever you call it.
06:20 That's the point I wanted to make.
06:22 Till I see you next time, Namaskar.
06:24 Thank you.
