00:26 A hearing took place in Miami on Wednesday with the court deciding that it would not

00:30 make a final decision on parenting until Turner's lawsuit filed in New York has made its definitive

00:35 ruling as to whether the case should be heard in the UK or Florida.

00:39 Now Turner claimed in her lawsuit that Jonas allegedly refused to give her kids their passports.

00:44 The Miami judge determined it would be holding a hearing the week of December 11th regarding

00:48 the actress' request for dismissal, regardless of the New York case outcome.

00:52 Yet because the Jonas Brothers band member filed the divorce and served Turner the papers

00:57 first, he has an advantage against the UK courts.

01:05 Turner claimed that she found out about the divorce "through the media as well."

01:10 But Jonas' representative slammed those statements about "abducting the children" and "withholding

01:16 In a statement to Page Six, Jonas' representative mentioned "This is an unfortunate legal

01:20 disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending.

01:23 When language like 'abduction' is used, it is misleading at best and a serious abuse

01:27 of the legal system at worst.

01:31 Joe Jonas filed for divorce in a Miami court on September 5th after four years of marriage

01:35 calling the union "irretrievably broken" in court documents.

01:39 As of late, the couple released a joint statement about their separation on social media.

01:48 but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our
