00:00 He owned 800 Test cricket wickets in his life.
00:04 The world's biggest wicket in cricket history.
00:08 And in the same way, his biopic was named 800.
00:12 The publicity of that film is now in Kolkata itself.
00:15 22-year-old real hero Muthaiya Muralidharan.
00:19 The spin-off magician used to come to Kolkata almost at one time.
00:22 At that time, the T20 football shoot was expected in the city.
00:26 But it didn't come after Corona.
00:29 He came to his own city and was very happy.
00:33 That day, he was again with him, the royal Bengal king Sourav Gangopadhyay.
00:37 He shared his experience of playing with his beloved Murali.
00:42 Happy is an understatement for me to be here.
00:45 Anything connected to Muthaiya Muralidharan, we used to call him Murali,
00:48 is from the heart.
00:51 Because not only he was the greatest spinner of all time,
00:55 he is one of the greatest human beings you'll ever meet.
00:58 Soft, gentle, kind and always smiling.
01:03 I've grown up in an era with a very strong Indian team and had some great players.
01:08 But for us, Sri Lanka was Murali.
01:10 With due respect to everyone, Sri Lanka has produced some great players.
01:16 My first trip in 1997 to Sri Lanka, we used to go to Sri Lanka very often.
01:20 Every summer, we used to be there.
01:22 Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo was just like our home.
01:25 For us, June and July, we were there and I loved Sri Lanka.
01:29 I remember my first trip, I landed and I was going through the immigration at the Colombo airport.
01:36 There were very kind people, India was coming and they said,
01:40 "All the best for the tournament, all the best for the series, have a good trip."
01:44 But remember, we have Murali.
01:46 On this day, Muthaiya Muralidharan's biopic "Aathshor Bishesh Prachar" was screened in a hotel in Dharamotala, Kolkata.
01:52 And there were the great Murali, Madhur Mittal and the film director, M. S. Shripati.
02:00 But you know what?
02:01 At first, he was not very happy with his biopic.
02:05 Because he is a very shy person.
02:07 Finally, his friend, the director, Venkat Prabhu, told him about the biopic.
02:12 Later, he was definitely convinced.
02:15 In 2018, Venkat Prabhu came to Sri Lanka and he was in a foundation.
02:22 And he met me and he asked me whether I wanted to take a biopic or not.
02:28 At first, I was very hesitant and shy about it because I am retired, happily in the house, waiting and a little bit of work.
02:39 I was doing Dada's house because five years I came here and a little bit of Agra Path as well.
02:48 So, first hesitant, then my manager said, "Because if you do something, you get something for the foundation and that will help some people."
02:57 Then I agreed.
02:58 So, that's the way it starts.
03:00 And you know, a lot of problems in five years' time it took to make a movie.
03:06 And now I am very happy because at first I was hesitant and I was not interested to do that.
03:15 But in life, sometimes you think you are not, but sometimes you have to do some things.
03:21 So, the only thing I asked my director, I gave the permission and everything has to be very true story.
03:28 It should not be added anything masala or anything to make a movie good.
03:34 Because it's a biopic, it has to be true what has happened, that you have to reveal.
