Birmingham headlines 29 September: PhD student facing jail for making 'kamikaze' drone for Islamic State
A University of Birmingham PhD student is facing jail after being convicted of making a 'Kamikaze' drone to be used by terror group Islamic State. Mohamad Al-Bared designed the deadly device with an explosive head capable of delivering a bomb or a chemical weapon.

Two more people have been arrested over the fire at The Crooked House. A 34 year-old woman and a 44 year-old man from Leicestershire have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson with intent or being reckless as to whether life was endangered.

Dog owners in Birmingham will get the chance to take their pups to the UK's only Doggy Disco event this weekend. The Doggy Disco is coming to the World Bar at Resorts World Birmingham. The event is being hosted by Pop + Bark who were featured on the latest season of Dragon Den
