00:00 We just continue to work and same answer that's not magical or anything else.
00:04 I mean, there's no, I said it last week when you guys asked.
00:07 I mean, we certainly have great belief in what we're doing,
00:09 great belief in players, great belief in coaches.
00:12 Tell things are right consistently, we're not gonna be happy.
00:15 We found a way to win.
00:16 That's really, really good.
00:17 We did some things much better.
00:19 There's some things we could do much better.
00:21 So we'll just keep trying to stack days, stack wins,
00:24 get ourselves back to a consistent place where we wanna be.
00:27 And then hopefully take it from there.
00:28 >> I haven't seen that you guys use the play action a little bit more and
00:30 also move Kenny outside of the box.
00:33 Just in what ways did that help you and
00:35 were there specific instances you felt like that was especially effective?
00:37 >> I think it's very effective.
00:38 And again, that's part of having a running game, right?
00:42 And I know however it gets portrayed, we got ourself in a position in that first
00:47 game where we didn't run the ball enough, play actions up and down aren't gonna,
00:51 they don't have the same effect.
00:53 So that's a game where we tried to control the line of scrimmage.
00:55 Our offensive line did that, our running backs did that.
00:58 Therefore, they had to respect the run, try to stop the run, and
01:01 that opens those things up.
01:02 And it's not what anybody wants to hear, but
01:06 that's why those things happen is when that comes first and that respect of the run.
01:11 When you look back at success last year,
01:13 that's what we have to do to get those plays.
01:16 >> Was Kenny moving more of a Raiders game plan thing or
01:19 would you like to get him a little more?
01:21 >> I think some of it's game plan, some of it's effective, some of it's not.
01:24 >> How's the menu of the run game at all simplified, if so, to what degree?
01:29 >> I don't know if it was simplified.
01:31 Obviously, again, a little bit of the prior question, game plan,
01:33 there's certain looks they give you that we think will be effective.
01:36 I think we were more effective, did a better job up front,
01:40 creating some holes in the back, so it's pretty good.
01:42 So I wouldn't say it was simplified in any kind of major way.
01:47 We knew what we were gonna do.
01:48 We did plays we thought we should execute and run, and
01:50 this happened and we executed them better.
01:52 Not to perfection or not to our final, hopefully our final picture, but better.
01:56 >> What did you guys do differently on the offensive line that opened us to those
02:00 holes?
02:01 >> Nothing dramatic.
02:03 Improved our technique, did a good job, backs it to holes.
02:07 Nothing, no major changes.
02:09 >> What kind of improvements have you seen from Jalen when he doesn't have
02:12 the ball in his hands, blitz pickups, the block?
02:14 >> Well, that's not an improvement.
02:16 Jalen became Jalen for us because of his amazing blitz pickup.
02:19 When you go back to last year, as he came in here,
02:21 was a guy nobody knew about.
02:23 His ability to pick up blitzes is elite.
02:27 And obviously, a true reference in the touchdown pass, when Crosby gets loose,
02:30 and he's there, and it blocks him.
02:32 So he's done that.
02:33 That wasn't a surprise to any of us.
02:35 He does it all the time, but
02:36 it's certainly not something we don't wanna mention or acknowledge.
02:39 His blitz pickup is varsity, as coach likes to say.
02:44 It is elite, and we're very fortunate to have it.
02:47 And that is what, then all of a sudden he does that, does well, and
02:50 then he gets the ball.
02:50 And then he's shown he can be an explosive guy with the ball in his hand as well.
