The Great Scottish Run is returning to Glasgow so we spoke to some of the runners involved.
Transcript
00:00 My name's Sorley and I'll be running the half marathon at the Great Scottish Run.
00:03 Hi, my name's Kathleen Reid. I'm running for a charity called East Kilbride District and Dementia Care Group.
00:10 Very special to myself because both my mother-in-law and currently my mum attend.
00:16 They provide high quality personalised care to following their diagnosis
00:24 and they've also helped and support my family through a difficult journey
00:30 and gave us help to give us support and a better understanding of dementia.
00:37 So Team Ennis is just like a group of runners and we all do stuff on social media and things like that
00:42 so I think we're just trying to promote running to folk and try and get them to be involved.
00:47 I just thought this was a perfect way to thank them and to hopefully raise a bit of money
00:53 because they do rely on a lot of public support.
00:58 So it's my way of saying thanks and helping.
01:01 I get a run as high every time I go out and I run to be honest with you.
01:05 Sometimes it's hard to get out there but whenever you get out and go on a run I feel much better for it.
01:10 I just like being outside and it's just a good thing to keep you fit, so fit and healthy.
01:17 Well I have done a 10k before but it was nine years ago
01:21 so the last couple of months I have been training and out running, practising
01:28 and hopefully I'll complete 10k on Sunday.
01:31 I feel like I'm always up for a challenge and I had never done a half marathon before
01:35 and since it was in Glasgow anyway, I stay in Glasgow so it's pretty convenient
01:39 and I was like why not, I'll just give it a go and see how I do.
