00:00 I've done so many fight scenes, you know, and of course that's where my expertise really
00:03 lies is in my fighting ability.
00:16 Most of my life I've been in karate, Taekwondo, karate, kung fu, you know, which is all kicking
00:21 and punching, blocking type of an art.
00:25 And now I'm more into the grappling concepts, you know, the on the ground type concepts.
00:39 It's the philosophy that my characters deal with.
00:42 Overall, they're good characters.
00:43 You know, they're honorable type characters that are put into situations that they have
00:48 to deal with many times in a violent situation.
00:51 But it's not because they want to, it's because they have to.
00:55 And I think that's the difference.
01:04 If you go out there and you're put into a position that you can't get out of, the analogy
01:08 is if you're walking down the street and all of a sudden three thugs start to accost you,
01:13 you know, you would love to be able to handle the situation if you can't get away from it.
01:17 And we all do, we all do.
01:27 And when I went to Korea when I was in the military, I started training in the martial
01:31 arts.
01:32 One was to raise my self-esteem, but secondly to prepare myself because I was going into
01:35 police work when I got out of the service.
01:38 So I wanted to prepare myself physically for my profession.
01:41 But it's also really a dual purpose.
01:43 So I've tried to put a lot of Chuck Norris into my characters, and Walker is a lot of
01:48 me.
01:49 I've got to kill you, Walker.
01:50 I'll be the legend.
01:51 Only in your mind.
01:56 I'd been offered a lot of series in the past, and I turned them all down, never really thinking
02:02 that I would do a television series.
02:04 When this project came to me about a Texas Ranger, it was the kind of character that
02:08 I thought I would enjoy playing week after week.
02:11 If it's successful, then of course you're living with this character for a long time.
02:16 So it's important that it's someone that you're interested in playing.
02:19 I think the Walker character that I would be playing is a character that I would enjoy
02:22 playing.
02:26 Walker, you know, Walker himself is a strong believer in law enforcement.
02:39 You know, the type of guy who is real strong in his beliefs.
02:46 At the same time, there's that vulnerable side to him, and his vulnerability really
02:51 lies in his friendships with people.
02:53 You're going to see a certain side of Chuck Norris that hasn't been seen.
02:58 You have the right to remain silent.
02:59 And you have the right to stuff it.
