The Buoyant Force

  • last year
In simple language, buoyant force is a force exerted by a liquid on an object. The value of the buoyant force can be calculated through the equation. The buoyant force is equal to the weight of the object in air minus the weight of the object in the liquid.

In the previous illustration, the weight of an object in air is 10 Newton. The weight of an object in a liquid is 6.3 Newton. So, the magnitude of the buoyant force acting on the object is 3.7 Newton.
