00:00 Pyrrole Charlotte Sena found alive hidden inside the cabinet of an RV that belongs to
00:05 the man police believe abducted her while she was camping with her family on Saturday.
00:10 You're watching Fox and Friends First. I'm Todd Pyrrole live in Morro Lake State Park
00:14 here in upstate New York where Charlotte went missing.
00:18 Good morning to you Todd. I'm Carly Shumkis. The details to this story are incredible and
00:22 here's how it all played out. Charlotte was last seen around 6.15pm on Saturday night
00:28 when she took a bike ride with some friends in the park. Her parents quickly became concerned
00:33 for her safety and then it got dark outside. They called 911 after finding her bike abandoned
00:39 in the woods shortly after.
00:43 Police immediately began searching for Charlotte. They declared her missing and issued an amber
00:47 alert the next morning. But here's where things got pretty interesting. The next day, around
00:52 4.20 in the morning, basically 24 hours ago, the suspect in the case actually showed up
00:59 at the family's house to drop a ransom note in the mailbox. Police were able to lift a
01:03 fingerprint from that note, trace it to the suspect's camper. That's where they found
01:08 Charlotte hidden in a cabinet. 47 year old Craig Nelson Ross Jr. now in custody. And
01:16 Carly, we all know that the first 48 hours after somebody, specifically, particularly
01:22 a child goes missing is always the most crucial period. And what is so stunning about this
01:29 case is the amazing response of law enforcement and how quickly everything coalesced to not
01:36 only find Charlotte, but to find the individual who allegedly kidnapped her.
01:41 Oh my gosh, thank God this little girl was found alive and found safe. It just broke
01:46 your heart when you heard Molly Lyne has been covering this story. And when she read the
01:52 description of what the little girl was wearing, a tie dye Pokemon shirt with blue jeans and
01:57 black Crocs. Of course she was wearing that because she's just a sweet little girl. That's
02:01 what little girls wear. And usually when you hear of a child abducted alone on a bike ride
02:06 in the woods, your mind goes to very dark places in these stories and much differently.
02:10 But this one didn't do it a good old fashioned police work. And Todd, apparently the suspect
02:15 left DNA all over the ransom note that he then put into the Sena family mailbox. I'm
02:21 sure that there were police that were staking out the home to see if anything like this
02:25 would happen. And they matched that DNA to a 1999 DUI arrest. So they got the name and
02:34 then they found the suspect. He was staying in a camper behind his mom's trailer. SWAT
02:41 team comes in, they use helicopters. Apparently he did not go down without a fight, but then
02:46 they found little Charlotte in a cabinet and she is safe and they took her to the hospital.
02:55 She was found 13 miles south of her family home. So we don't really know if there's any
02:59 connection between the suspect and this child just yet, but thank God this story had a happy
03:05 ending.
03:08 And there are reports in the Albany Times Union, which is the local newspaper up here
03:13 that this suspect has had a history of sexual abuse in the past. We have a lot of questions
03:20 that still need to be asked, but right now the focus is on the fact that we found this
03:25 little girl. We found her alive. I'm going to be speaking to a friend of the Sena family
03:29 right here in a few moments. Going to ask how the family's doing, how Charlotte's doing,
03:33 all the questions that you want answers to. Please stick around for that. But I know Carly
03:38 last night when we decided that I was going to be coming up here, you and I were texting
03:42 with the producers. And I think the overall feeling was not that, hey, this is a news
03:48 story. We both looked at this through the lens of being a parent. And I know I was reading
03:54 to my little one, you know, I texted you this. I was reading to my little one when the news
03:58 came in that Charlotte was alive. And I gave my little girl the biggest hug in the world
04:03 because this is a story that not only spoke to me, not only spoke to you, but spoke to
04:08 America because you think about a little girl biking. There's nothing more American than
04:13 that gets kidnapped. But thank goodness it has a happy ending.
04:17 Yeah, the state police read a statement saying Charlotte is a bright, adventurous girl who
04:20 loves to be outside. Charlotte has a huge heart and wanted to create a club at her school
04:26 for kids who don't have friends. She always put others first. And thankfully, that little
04:31 girl will now be able to create that club. And she got some big hugs from her parents
04:35 last night. All right. There is also this happening today. Hunter Biden is doing federal
04:42 court today where he's expected to plead not guilty to felony gun charges.
04:46 Brooke Singman is live outside the courthouse in Wilmington, Delaware, with the very latest.
04:52 Good morning, Brooke. Hey, good morning, Carly. That's right. We're
04:56 here in Wilmington where Hunter Biden is expected to arrive in just a few hours to this courthouse
05:00 right behind me where he's expected to plead not guilty to three federal gun charges. Those
05:06 charges stemming from special counsel David Weiss's investigation. Now, this in-person
05:11 arraignment comes after a judge rejected Hunter Biden's request to actually appear here virtually.
05:17 That judge saying, quote, Hunter Biden should not receive special treatment in this manner
05:22 absent some unusual circumstances. Now, the president's son is accused of buying a gun
05:26 back in 2018 while illegally using drugs, something he eventually admitted in his own
05:32 memoir. He's now facing three separate charges. Now, that's one for lying on the gun application,
05:38 one for lying to the gun store clerk, and one for actually possessing the firearm while
05:43 using illegal drugs. Now, if convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum penalty of
05:49 25 years in prison plus a $750,000 fine. But some say these charges are just a cover
05:57 up of something much bigger, something that could possibly implicate President Biden.
06:02 Listen. This is a charade. This is part of the Biden Justice Department's cover up. They
06:08 are charging Hunter with these gun charges that are constitutionally dubious and do not
06:14 tie back to his father, Joe Biden, when there is clear evidence that the Bidens are that
06:19 Joe Biden is corrupted and compromised by tens of millions of dollars and foreign bribes
06:25 and other corruption. President Biden will pardon his son before he leaves office.
06:31 But when it comes to the voters, new polling shows 72 percent say Hunter's legal troubles
06:36 actually have no bearing on the way they will vote in 2024. So, Carly, because we are here
06:41 at federal court, we won't expect to see a mugshot from Hunter Biden today, but we will
06:46 be watching and bringing you guys all the latest.
06:48 Absolutely. All right, Brooke Segman, live for us. Thank you so much. Todd, over to you.
06:53 Portland's public safety commissioner telling crime victims not to call 911 unless it's
06:59 a matter of life and death.
07:00 Yeah, so one business owner taking matters into his own hands, spending thousands of
07:04 dollars to keep his property locked up and safe from criminals. We're going to be talking
07:10 to him coming up next.
07:13 Good morning, everyone. The eastern half of the country going to experience summertime
07:20 warmth over the next couple of days, cooler than average temperatures for the West. We've
07:25 got this big cold front, a very strong one that's going to come out of the Rockies and
07:29 then move in towards the Plains states, the Midwest, then across the Mississippi and Ohio
07:34 River Valley over the next couple of days, cooler than average temperatures on the way.
07:38 We could see the potential for stronger storms along the front and then ahead of it. It's
07:43 going to be very warm, especially for areas across the Northeast. Eighty one today, eighty
07:47 four in Minneapolis, seventy nine in Chicago, eighty one in Cleveland, eighty one tomorrow
07:51 for New York City Thursday.
07:53 Yet another day of above average temperatures. But we're going to start to feel the cooler
07:57 air move in and then it's over as we get into the weekend. But we will enjoy it over the
08:03 next couple of days now because of that strong cold front interacting with some of that warm
08:08 unsettled air. We could see the potential for stronger storms, including hail, damaging
08:13 winds, even tornadoes and heavy rainfall along this front. And that's going to bring the
08:18 potential for some flash flooding not only today, but tomorrow for portions of Texas
08:23 through Oklahoma and then in towards the Mississippi River Valley. So we will continue to monitor
08:27 that. Also seeing Philippe in the Atlantic. But we do not think Philippe is going to come
08:33 close to the US. However, the Caribbean, the Lesser Antilles needs to monitor this path.
08:38 Foxweather dot com for all of your latest details. Todd Carly. All right. Philippe is
08:43 one to watch. Thank you so much. All right. Got some headlines on America's crime crisis.
08:49 Shocking video from Philadelphia shows an armed motorcyclist stomping out a woman's
08:54 back windshield. You can see him drop his handgun before picking it up and aiming it
08:58 right out her. The driver's two children were reportedly inside the car at the time. The
09:04 suspect then proceeds to headbutt the woman, but she doesn't back down, shoving him back
09:09 before he eventually takes off in his motorcycle. Police are still looking for the suspect.
09:14 Meantime, Philadelphia police arresting more than 70 people in connection to a multi day
09:19 crime spree that devastated businesses. They're facing charges ranging from felony burglary
09:24 to criminal mischief. Surveillance video caught hundreds of suspects smashing through glass,
09:29 stealing merchandise and raiding cash registers. The chaos started just hours after a judge
09:34 dismissed charges against a former police officer and the fatal shooting of a 27 year
09:39 old. Officials say the number of arrests are only expected to rise. Portland's Public Safety
09:48 Commissioner urging residents not to call 911 except in certain emergencies. After dispatching
09:54 the city's emergency services to respond to eight overdoses in just one morning, the city
09:59 says, quote, Our 911 system is getting hammered this morning with a multiple person incident,
10:05 multiple overdoses in Northwest Park blocks. Please do not call 911 except in the event
10:10 of life or death, emergency or crime in progress. Kurt Hudson's a Portland business owner joins
10:16 me now. Kurt, is there any greater indictment of government than when it admits it cannot
10:23 perform its main function, which of course is public safety? No, no. The Portland leadership
10:31 has led us down for two, two and a half years at this point. Their inaction early on allowed
10:38 this to build a build and built. And we're just seeing more and more of it. And it's
10:44 just putting the stress on businesses, families, everyone. According to an independent study
10:52 from the Lund Group, nearly three thousand 911 calls were made this year from January
10:59 to June. From August last year to this past August, there were four hundred seven to four
11:04 hundred seventy two arrests related to drugs and narcotics and over one hundred homicides.
11:09 When I sort of put those numbers together and think about them, I think the taxpaying
11:13 citizens of Portland could have their lives, their property in put in jeopardy because
11:19 the city has decided basically to not handle the fentanyl crisis the way that it should.
11:26 Is that your read on it as well? Fentanyl is just exploded. Their lack of handling most
11:33 of our crises is from from the homeless population that's exploded in two and a half years to
11:39 fentanyl. They've just had a hands off approach and now they're trying to play catch up. It's
11:45 dangerous and there's too many and there's too many young people at risk and there's
11:49 too many people dying in our streets. I'm glad you mentioned homelessness. Homeless
11:56 people in your great city of Portland, Oregon, are now suing the city over a new daytime
12:03 camping bed. I didn't say that wrong. The homeless are suing the city. All this. You
12:08 spent close to eight thousand bucks to put your van in a cage to keep it from people
12:14 who feel like they're entitled to other people's property. So, Kurt, in any way, are you shocked
12:19 by the sense of entitlement from these homeless people that they can sue because they view
12:25 the entire world as their home? Or does it come as no surprise, considering, to your
12:30 point earlier, how Portland Democrat leaders have enabled homelessness despite the millions
12:36 of dollars that have gone into, quote unquote, solving the homeless crisis?
12:41 Well, from my aspect, I'm not shocked by this from an aspect that the city has failed the
12:49 homeless and here, just like they failed businesses and everybody else here. There's a lot of
12:55 people out there who need help and the city has dropped the ball from day one. There's
13:00 an city leadership has abdicated their duties here in Portland and you see it every day.
13:10 It's the homeless industrial complex. Just think of the resources that are going to go
13:13 into this lawsuit that could go into actually helping the homeless. It's a sad situation,
13:19 not just in Portland, but all over the country. Kurt Hudson, thank you for your time.
13:23 Thank you. All right. Speaking of sad situations, Coach Brian Nabel, not happy last night, throwing
13:29 down his tablet as a team that I root for. The New York Giants got crushed by the Seattle
13:35 Seahawks. We'll show you the Monday night beat down coming up.
13:39 First, this world's free beer is giving Bud Light a run for its money thanks to its limited
13:43 edition Trump mugshot can that's going viral. The company. Did you hear about this? A new
13:50 beer brand, the company has made half a million dollars in just 12 hours after releasing limited
13:57 edition cans with former President Trump's mugshot on the front. Seth Weathers is CEO
14:05 of Altra right beer company, and he joins me now. Seth, good morning to five tractor
14:10 loads of cans in just 12 hours. Did you think this was going to be this much of a hit?
14:17 You know, I know it's going to be a hit, but I maybe didn't quite realize where how big
14:21 it was going to go. And it's still going. So we're excited. And part of what we're doing
14:25 here is we're actually using the funds on this to fund the Trump electors that are being
14:29 persecuted, not prosecuted here in the state of Georgia. And so we're happy to be giving
14:33 back to that. So we've generated a bunch of money for these legal defense funds. Oh, that's
14:38 yeah. And I was reading that you ran former President Trump's 2016 campaign in Georgia.
14:44 So I'm sure that that is where you got this idea to donate some of the funds. So you also
14:48 have a personal connection to the former president. Well, and also some of my friends are the
14:53 ones that are being arrested here by the communist Fannie Willis in Fulton County. And so that
14:58 was why I was extremely important to me. Well, you seem to really be tapping into something
15:02 with this beer that people are certainly buying. I'm sure that people are buying it as gifts
15:06 or they're having a party and they throw a can to a friend and the friend's like, oh
15:13 my gosh, you got it. So what do you think it is that you're tapping into that people
15:17 are really responding to? You know, so our organization from the beginning has been raising
15:22 funds and giving to organizations that we care about, like the 1776 project that is
15:26 helping flip these woke school boards and turning them over to normal people. And I
15:31 think people have reached a tipping point. They're done. We've got a lot of crazy people
15:35 on these school boards and when they know that, Hey, I'm going to get a conservative
15:38 as ultra right beer and that's going to contribute to flipping a school board from the woke.
15:42 I think that that resonates with people. I think people are just really done with insanity.
15:46 And so I think as an organization, as a company to actually be out there, you know, we buy
15:51 products from people all the time that hate our values. We go to sports games run by people
15:55 that hate our values. And so when you have a product, that's a great beer and you can
16:00 actually support the organizations and causes that are important to you. I think it was
16:03 just a home run for a lot of people. Yeah, you're going to do so well on Christmas, father's
16:08 day. I can imagine that those days are going to be big hits for you. We talked about the
16:12 can really quickly. What does the beer inside taste like? So it's a classic American lager.
16:18 So it's a, it's a great beer. We worked with someone that came up with an incredible recipe.
16:22 The response we've received from the quality of the beer is incredible. And so it's something
16:26 that I'm, I'm proud to stand behind. And you know, I think this will be a beer that people
16:30 will be drinking a hundred years from now. Well, there you have it, Seth. You're doing
16:34 something different. It's beer with a political purpose. Seth Weathers, thank you so much
16:39 for joining us this morning. Hey, where can we get the beer if people want to buy it?
16:43 Go to ultra right beer.com conservative dads, ultra right beer.com. There you have it. Thank
16:48 you so much, Seth. Appreciate it. I was going to do this thing where I pretend it like the
16:56 prompter went out and my microphone went out so that I didn't have to do this story, but
17:00 then I thought that would upset the producers. So here we go to Monday night football, Seattle
17:06 Seahawks dominate the New York giants, sacking Daniel Jones, 11 times and forcing three turnovers,
17:13 including this one. Giants lose 24 to three coach Brian D'Abel seen on the sideline, tossing
17:37 his tablet, getting in a tense conversation with Jones. Some wondering if the giants should
17:42 make a call to, Oh, I don't know. Actor will Farrell. You ready? East right fly up. Return
17:48 to the right all the way outside. Why left fake three 96 V hinge Z puck and make it slippy.
18:02 At this point, make it slippy. If you're the giants, you can't do any worse than you're
18:06 doing so far. That was course was the comedian dialing up a play for Peyton Manning, perhaps
18:12 calling back to his experience on his own high school football team.
18:15 Meantime, there's this, the NFL removing its Taylor Swift inspired social media posts following
18:21 backlash from football fans. It all comes after the league changed its Instagram bio
18:26 to chiefs are two and O as Swifties that following the team's win over the New York Jets on Sunday.
18:32 But by noon on Monday, the bio was nothing more than a blank space. Fans say they are
18:37 more focused on some questionable calls during the game, including a holding penalty on Jets
18:42 cornerback sauce Gardner, which got head coach Robert Sala flag for unsportsmanlike conduct.
18:48 Carly, this all goes back to this notion that the NFL is scripted. And so of course, the
18:54 NFL didn't want it to appear like they were scripting this in favor of the chiefs and
18:57 line of the whole Taylor Swift situation. Let me just say, if the NFL is scripted, this
19:03 season has been a horror movie for my New York football giants. And I'm hoping the guy
19:08 comes with a chainsaw to end my misery as soon as possible.
19:11 Well, I don't know who was running the NFL social media, but I think it was probably
19:15 a good idea for them to rain it back a little on the Taylor Swift stuff. We get it. We definitely
19:19 get it. All right. We have a Fox news alert to get to.
19:22 Did you hear about this? Democratic Congressman Henry Cuellar getting carjacked at gunpoint
19:26 about a mile from the Capitol building. We have all the breaking details on that horrific
19:30 story coming up next.
19:36 And an absolutely incredible story as nine year old Charlotte Santa is found safe. A
19:42 friend of the family joining me live from Morrow Lake State Park in upstate New York
19:47 as we report from the scene all morning long. Don't go anywhere.
19:55 Congressman Henry Cuellar getting carjacked at gunpoint yesterday about a mile from Capitol
20:00 Hill and the suspects are still on the loose. Alexandria Hoff has the very latest. Alex,
20:06 good morning.
20:07 Good morning, Carly. And lawmakers are acting with urgency on this. They had a meeting about
20:11 this last week. Dozens of them live in the area. That immediate area where Congressman
20:15 Cuellar was robbed of his vehicle, phone and other items last night. So this is on the
20:19 mind of just about everybody here in DC. It happened in a popular neighborhood about a
20:22 mile south of the Capitol building. Police are looking for three males stating DC's Metropolitan
20:28 Police Department is investigating an armed carjacking that happened around 930 p.m. in
20:33 DC's Navy Yard neighborhood. The victim has been identified as a member of Congress. So
20:37 the USCP has investigators working with MPD on this case. Injuries were not reported.
20:42 Detectives are working to track down the suspects. Now, police were able to locate Congressman
20:47 Cuellar's vehicle a short time later. The Texas Democrats chief of staff wrote as Congressman
20:52 Cuellar was parking his car this evening, three armed assailants approached the congressman
20:56 and stole his vehicle. Luckily, he was not harmed. He is working with local law enforcement.
21:01 Thank you to the Metro PD and Capitol Police for their swift action and for recovering
21:05 the congressman's vehicle. Now, year to date, 750 carjackings have occurred in the district
21:12 and 75 percent of those cases, a gun was involved. And this is the second House Democrat attack
21:17 near the Capitol this year. In February, Congresswoman Angie Craig was assaulted in the elevator of
21:23 her apartment building. Carly, 750 carjackings. That's several carjackings every single day.
21:30 Thank God Congressman Cuellar is safe because this could have ended very differently. Alexandria,
21:36 thank you so much. We appreciate it. Todd, over to you.
21:38 All right, Carly, to another Fox News alert. Missing nine year old Charlotte Santa has
21:45 been found alive after disappearing from Morrow Lake State Park in New York on Saturday. Police
21:50 are tracking down the suspect accused of kidnapping her from a ransom note he left in the family's
21:56 mailbox. After some resistance, the suspect was taken
22:01 into custody and immediately the little girl was found in a cabinet cupboard. She was rescued.
22:11 The suspect, 47 year old male named Craig Nelson Ross Jr. is still being questioned.
22:21 At this moment, charges have not been brought, but they are fully expected.
22:27 Patrick Cain is a friend of the Santa family, joins me now live from where this scene all
22:31 unfolded. Patrick, thank you so much for being here. We know this has been a whirlwind last
22:36 12 hours for you and for the family. The most important question, how is Charlotte doing?
22:41 Very well, very well. Of course, the family's thrilled to have her back, but by all accounts,
22:46 she's doing just fine. And then of course, from Charlotte, we do
22:48 go to the family. As a parent, I can't imagine the sense of relief. How's mom doing? How's
22:53 dad doing? The extended family? Just elated. I mean, I obviously think you have hopeless
22:58 or you try to stay as optimistic as possible, but you have to think of the bad side of this
23:03 and it just never occurred, of course. So now we're just thrilled.
23:06 Have you had an opportunity to speak with the parents?
23:08 We've been texting back and forth. Yeah. So it's, everybody's happy. Of course, they left
23:12 here. They all went to Albany to, for examination and all at Albany Med. And by all accounts,
23:17 everything's good. Any sense as to when she's going to be released?
23:20 I would say any day now. Any day now?
23:21 It's just going to be a day or so. I mean, look, we have to be realistic. And
23:24 you just said it. We all know situations like this, when you hear about them in the news,
23:29 they don't always end well. In fact, if you're going with a gut instinct, they usually end
23:33 poorly and it is horrific. What does that say about the response of law enforcement
23:39 in this community that we are celebrating today and not mourning?
23:43 Well, I think, you know, speaking for everybody, law enforcement was the reason we found her
23:49 and got her back. There was an overwhelming amount of effort put on by the state police,
23:53 all the local EMTs and first responders. It was pretty special to see hundreds and hundreds
23:59 of people walking those woods. Obviously, they were working behind the scenes, but it's
24:04 special that we saw this happen.
24:05 Do need to get into the individual involved. There were reports that the suspect, 47-year-old
24:10 Craig Nelson Ross, reportedly targeted Charlotte. Can you speak to that?
24:16 I can't at this point. They're still working on some of those details, but it's obvious
24:20 that this person had some premeditated aspirations.
24:26 Is there any sense that he knew the family? Reportedly, he lived only about two miles
24:30 away from the Sena family home.
24:31 I think he may have been aware of them. I don't know at this point what we can share
24:32 with you on that because I'm sure they're still trying to build it all together. It
24:33 happened so quick yesterday and everybody went from, "I hope this happens," to like,
24:34 "They're elated that it happened." So I don't have the inside scoop on that.
24:49 As someone who lives in this community, have you had any interaction with this suspect?
24:54 No.
24:55 Have you ever heard of him?
24:56 No.
24:57 I've never met this kid.
24:58 No awareness that this individual was reportedly, according to the Albany Times Union, had a
25:02 history of sexual abuse in the criminal context?
25:05 No. I read the same articles and I'm friends with the guys at the T.U., but no, I don't
25:09 know. I personally do not have that information.
25:12 We were talking off camera and there was a general sense that you have two daughters,
25:16 I have two daughters. The initial instinct was to hug your family and that's exactly
25:22 what you told the media last night when they all asked how things were going and asked,
25:27 you know, it was the end of the day once they had discovered that Charlotte was alive and
25:31 you all told the media, "Go hug your family." Tell me a little bit more about that moment.
25:34 You know, we tend to keep the fast pace of life in general, but it really boils down
25:38 to, especially with little girls, they look up at daddy and say, "Hey, take good care
25:43 of me." And knowing Dave the way I know, that's got to be the hardest thing because this happened,
25:48 we'll say, under their watch as parents. And it was brutal. It was brutal. But as a parent,
25:53 how can you even not think the most cherished moment is just to hug your children?
25:57 You know this family, you know this little girl, Charlotte. The one thing that's been
26:00 reported is that she has this huge love of others. Knowing her and knowing how she is
26:08 always welcoming to other kids, do you have any concern that this experience is going
26:13 to potentially ruin that love, ruin that joy of life? Or is Charlotte just one of those
26:18 individuals who, you know, is just going to say, "I love society. I love my fellow humans.
26:23 I'm just going to continue to love, love, love."
26:24 If you met her parents, you'd say she's going to be just fine. Her parents are the reason
26:28 she is like the way she is. Her father, who I know quite well, is just eternally optimistic.
26:34 He's a fun guy. He loves people. And it's just a marvelous family. So she was abruptly
26:40 removed from that family, but returned safe and sound. There's going to be some healing,
26:45 of course, but it's a wonderful story for a wonderful family.
26:49 Thank you so much for getting up early with us. We do appreciate it. And Carly, I mean,
26:55 we've been talking about this for a while, a beautiful ending to what could have been
26:58 much worse. We just thank the good Lord above that we are here celebrating today and not
27:04 morning. Back over to you.
27:05 Absolutely. I'm so sure little Charlotte has a bright future ahead. It was great to hear
27:08 from Patrick and Todd. Great job with the interview as well. All right. So here's a
27:12 question. Is President Biden too old to run for re-election? We'll tell you what Democrats.
