On Monday, President Joe Biden condemned former President Donald Trump for his derogatory comments about US service members, reigniting a controversy that has its roots in statements made by Trump during his presidency.

What Happened: Biden took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to say that Trump’s comments about the fallen U.S. servicemen reflected the position of MAGA extremists who have “made it clear where they stand”

Biden said in a video, he shared in the same tweet, that he had been to the cemetery where Trump reportedly refused to visit. The president criticized his predecessor for his comments on former Arizona Senator John McCain, who had served in Vietnam.
