00:10 I'm here with Jim Patterson, owner of this wonderful Isotta Fraschini.
00:14 And Jim, a very interesting history to this car.
00:16 The chassis built in 1924, but this body is 1931.
00:21 What's going on here?
00:23 Actually, we called it in 1932.
00:25 Well, Isotta built the chassis and the motor, and they had some kind of an odd body on it.
00:34 So when Ramseier and Warbuffin saw that, they decided to design this body, which is on it now.
00:42 And it was in the show, I think the Paris Auto Show, I believe, in '32.
00:47 But it's very strange in that it's an Italian car with a Swiss body, you know.
00:54 And we call it a 1932.
00:57 So Pebble Beach, a very, very important event on the concourse cycle.
01:00 What does it mean to you?
01:02 Well, it's the ultimate.
01:04 I said in 2010 I won Best of Show, and I said then it's like winning the Kentucky Derby.
01:10 It remains that way.
01:12 To me, it's the Super Bowl of collector cars.
01:15 Any way you want to classify the elite level of anything.
01:20 And so if you win here, you're a hero.
01:26 But there's a certain style to these cars that to me is very Pebble Beach.
01:29 This car's very long and extravagant.
01:32 It's maybe the longest car on these two streets.
01:35 It's probably close to 22 feet.
01:37 Wow.
01:38 Very big car.
01:39 But no, it handles all right, and it's strong.
01:42 It's got a huge engine in it, an 8-liter engine.
01:46 Huge.
01:48 It's amazing how big the engines were in those days.
01:52 Okay, Jim, thanks very much, and best of luck on Sunday.
01:55 And watch out for this 1932 Isotto Fraschini.
01:59 It's one of the cars to watch at the concourse on Sunday.
