Meet Rick Harden
Transcript
00:00 My name is Rick Harden and I race this 80...
00:02 Sorry, take two.
00:06 I run the blown fuel modified sports class and we're going to run a blown gas modified
00:21 sports class next event.
00:28 Well, you know, our big goal was to get into the 200 club at Bonneville and we were able
00:32 to achieve that last year.
00:35 Exit speed was 278.
00:38 Set the record for the world's fastest Corvette there.
00:42 We hold a few track records, you know, the Texas mile in Goliad, the Texas mile in Victoria,
00:49 and the old Arkansas mile here and we're going for the ECTA record now.
00:57 Yeah, it's a Gen 4, big block, old school, you know, it's twin turbo, small wrap motor,
01:09 477 cubic inch and run a 4L80 automatic transmission.
01:15 Built pretty tough, you know, to handle that horsepower.
01:19 We put out 16, 1800 horsepower.
01:22 If we could ever put it to the ground, we'd be dynamite, you know.
01:25 So, when we run the independent rear suspension still in this car, you know, factory, you
01:30 know, Dana 44 or Dana 36, depending on what gear we're running.
01:35 Probably the most aerodynamic Corvette out there, just from the factory, you know, easiest
01:43 to tune.
01:49 My best friend, Dave Libichuk, came about the idea back in 2009, said, you know, this
01:54 racing is such a selfish sport and we wanted to figure out a way we could give back to
01:58 our community.
01:59 And Texas Children's Hospital, you know, they're 100% donation type hospital and they allow
02:06 us to work with them and, you know, all the things that we do, you know, sell t-shirts
02:11 and stickers and things like that, 100% of our money goes to them, you know.
02:16 So, it's just a neat deal that we kind of like to do.
