00:00 Hi, Rick Peway, 4-Wheeler Network.
00:04 I'm here with my top vehicle pick of the SEMA 2015.
00:08 Now, you know me for being a Jeep guy, but I like all kinds of vehicles.
00:13 This time, I found the one I really like, belongs to Eric Villar of Motive Gear.
00:18 Tell me about your Jeep.
00:19 Eric Villar>> Of Motive Gear.
00:20 So I've had this Jeep for a couple of years now.
00:21 I got it out of basically a side yard in Denver, Colorado.
00:27 I actually traded a used 9-inch third member for it for my buddy.
00:31 We were going down to pre-run Baja 1000 and he put his truck on a trailer, blew a ring
00:36 of pinion.
00:37 I said, "Just keep on coming down.
00:38 I've got a used third member.
00:40 We'll throw it in and we'll go."
00:41 He asked me for a couple of years, "What do I owe you?
00:45 What do I owe you?"
00:46 I said, "Don't worry about it.
00:47 Don't worry about it."
00:48 He goes, "You know what?"
00:49 I admired one of his flat fenders.
00:50 He goes, "I'll tell you what.
00:52 I'll give you this flat fender where even."
00:53 So now we got her.
00:54 >> And now this is probably the epitome of a flat fender because this is mostly original.
00:59 I mean, sure, it's not the original paint, but somewhere underneath it, do you think
01:02 it was always yellow?
01:03 >> So yeah, originally it would have been yellow.
01:06 Somewhere along the line it got this green color put on it, but it's like a fine wine.
01:11 The paint keeps coming off and it's aging perfectly.
01:16 >> And you said it's bouncing around for like 20 years, 30 years between people because
01:19 they couldn't get it started?
01:20 >> Yeah.
01:21 So it actually sat dead for almost 30 years between two different people and they couldn't
01:24 get it started.
01:25 And it turns out they had the positive and the negative wire on the coil swapped.
01:31 We swapped her around and fired right up.
01:33 >> Good thing you're a mechanic, sir.
01:34 >> Yeah, that's right.
01:35 >> Right.
01:36 So are you leaving it exactly like this or?
01:39 >> I have no plans on changing anything.
01:41 We drive it.
01:42 >> It's perfect as is?
01:43 >> It's perfect as is.
01:44 I drive it almost daily.
01:45 I pick my daughter up from school.
01:46 I get in line with all the other soccer moms and I'm billowing smoke out of the tailpipe
01:50 and everybody's pretty much cussing my name but my daughter gets in there and she throws
01:55 her hands up.
01:56 It's like a roller coaster to her.
01:57 >> That's awesome.
01:58 Well, thanks.
01:59 I'm glad you're going to keep it just like this because it is a perfect status.
02:03 This is called arrested decay.
02:04 >> Mm-hmm.
02:05 >> All right.
02:06 You don't get more than that.
02:07 >> Arrested decay.
02:08 >> Arrested decay.
02:09 Keep it like it is.
02:10 Thanks again, Eric.
02:11 >> Thanks, Rick.
