00:00 Well I just want to welcome everyone here to Bathurst for the Bathurst 1000 60 years
00:05 and just to emphasise what a fantastic event this is. It's an incredible mix of speed, adrenaline
00:13 but also wrapped up in safety and all the procedures that you need to make this a great race.
00:18 We have a number of police here from a number of sections within the New South Wales Police Force
00:23 including the Traffic and Highway Patrol, we have Polar, we have officers from the western region,
00:30 operational support group, we have a number of licensing police, we have trail bike police,
00:35 we have bicycle police, general duties police from the Chifley Police District and a number
00:40 of support teams. One of our main priorities during this time is on the roads in and out of Bathurst
00:47 and certainly the surrounding communities. We have a number of Traffic and Highway Patrol police
00:53 in a specific road policing operation where we will be targeting poor behaviour on the roads,
01:00 distraction offences, speeding offences, alcohol and drug related offences. So we will be coming
01:06 down hard on those who fought the traffic rules right across Bathurst and surrounds. On behalf of
01:12 Supercars thank you Bathurst and thank you to the Central West for welcoming us back.
01:17 It's 60th anniversary this year from 1963 to 2023, like a good wine Bathurst gets better with us.
01:24 We're hoping for great numbers again you can see today the crowds are already here,
01:28 they're enjoying what's on track and there's plenty more to come over the next three quarters.
01:32 you
