00:02 This car is not for everybody.
00:04 This is the extreme example of the performance muscle cars.
00:08 You do a car like this, not to be subtle.
00:12 You do a car like this to send a message to the industry
00:15 on who you are, what you are, and what you're all about.
00:18 (upbeat music)
00:20 The first thing that makes the Hellcat so special
00:29 is the most obvious thing, is the supercharger.
00:32 We've never offered a factory supercharged Hemi.
00:36 I mean, this is the ultimate performance V8.
00:38 The command of power you have
00:40 with your accelerator foot is unbelievable.
00:43 I've never driven a V8 car
00:44 that has this performance on the road.
00:46 We started with a 392 Hemi
00:48 and upgraded over 90% of the components in the engine
00:52 to create all of this torque and horsepower.
00:54 Ultimately, we delivered a Hemi engine
00:56 with 6.2 liters of supercharged power.
00:59 It handles as well as any SRT product.
01:04 There's a unique brake system
01:05 that comes with the supercharged car.
01:07 We have an adjustable suspension,
01:08 unique springs, unique sway bars,
01:10 and there's an eight-speed automatic.
01:12 And then the manual transmission
01:14 is an adaptation of the Viper transmission,
01:17 and that's to deal with the high speed
01:18 and the extra horsepower.
01:19 When you have a vehicle of this magnitude of power,
01:25 we take on that much more responsibility
01:27 in trying to have it to just be
01:29 the most sinister-looking vehicle on the road,
01:32 but it's all functional.
01:33 We spent 35% more wind tunnel time
01:36 than we ever have developing this car
01:38 because of the top speed.
01:40 So it really has to maximize every square inch
01:43 to help the engine breathe.
01:44 We actually went so far as to have a Ram air intake
01:48 in the front headlamp.
01:49 In the back, with the unique rear spoiler,
01:51 our new 1971-inspired tail lamps,
01:54 those monster 20 by nine and a half inch wheels
01:58 beyond right to the edge,
01:59 really plants the back end of the vehicle.
02:01 So when you're coming up on a car,
02:03 you'll know what it is.
02:04 - Working on the 2015 Challenger,
02:08 we had to look back to the past.
02:09 We had to look to a '71.
02:11 So from the brow area to the radial face gauges,
02:14 to our trapezoid console,
02:16 you get this heritage ploy.
02:18 We were able to add Laguna seats,
02:19 finished in sepia.
02:21 One of the best parts is the high bolstering.
02:23 You're gonna need that when you're cornering
02:25 and you have the high G-forces.
02:26 You're gonna feel planted in the seat.
02:28 - We have two key fobs that are available in the car.
02:31 It comes with a black key fob
02:32 that's kind of the standard setting.
02:34 And then we have a special key fob, the red key fob,
02:36 and that allows you the maximum horsepower
02:39 that the car can deliver.
02:41 - If you think about a Challenger,
02:43 this is more than 95% of the performance enthusiasts
02:47 in the world will ever need.
02:49 But there's that guy out there.
02:50 There's that 5% of the enthusiast population
02:53 that want more.
02:54 They want more horsepower.
02:55 They want more handling.
02:56 They want more braking.
02:58 They want more aggressive styling.
02:59 So for that 5%, we have the SRT Hellcat.
