00:00 >> Yeah, I mean, I was my freshman in college, so I watched football,
00:05 especially us playing football over there in the West Coast.
00:08 You're able to see football and see highlights.
00:09 So, I mean, we hear, I mean, we see the noise.
00:14 It's a blessing to be kind of acknowledged in the same category as those guys.
00:18 But we have our own type of style of offense and our own flavor.
00:22 So what those guys did was great.
00:26 We're just trying to put our own stamp on LSU this year and how we want our offense to be.
00:31 >> At times this season, we've kind of seen you get into a little bit of a zone.
00:34 Can you take us inside what that's like as a quarterback?
00:37 I kind of feel like when it's rolling, what is that like mentally for you?
00:40 >> I don't know.
00:42 I mean, I can't really explain it.
00:45 It's just once you get in that zone, it's kind of like, not necessarily blackout,
00:49 but you don't really remember what's going on.
00:52 You're just so locked in and focused on the tasks that you have to do playing that
00:55 play out, so I mean, that's kind of how it is for me.
00:59 >> When you see a guy, obviously, everyone knows Malik nationally, but
01:02 Brian Thomas has really had a nice year even before this past couple of games.
01:06 What's it like to kind of see his development from your perspective?
01:09 >> It was great to see his development.
01:11 I mean, I've seen the work he put in day in and day out.
01:13 Just the whole receiver group, pushing each other to be better and
01:18 be the best that they can be.
01:19 So I'm proud of those guys.
01:21 >> Mason Taylor also seemed to really look like himself.
01:23 You guys connected, I think, five catches this last weekend.
01:26 Just how have you seen him grow and just kind of, when teams are gonna try to take
01:31 away that deep option sometimes, just how important is it to have somebody like him
01:34 on the team to really help things out?
01:37 >> It's great having Mason.
01:38 He has a natural instinct and natural feel for space and for football.
01:43 His football IQ is up there.
01:44 So I mean, he sees the zones.
01:47 He knows how to get open, how to sit in the zone.
01:50 So it's great to have Mason there and just his natural feel for everything.
01:54 >> Coach really said that with the league, there was really work that started
01:57 last season in the spring about getting him to learn every single receiver position
02:01 that y'all have.
02:03 First of all, is that unique to him?
02:04 Is he kind of the only one who's moving around like that?
02:07 >> I mean, yes and no.
02:08 I mean, Brian, all those guys are really moving around.
02:12 So it was unique to him at first, but
02:14 all those guys, they're able to know different positions.
02:18 That's what they wanna do.
02:19 They wanna move around and have fun and
02:22 be able to work different spots on the field.
02:24 So Malik, he did it, but Brian and Kyrie know they do the same thing.
02:30 >> Because of the attention that Malik specifically has been drawing here for
02:34 the first five games, what does it do for
02:35 y'all offensively to put them in some of these spots?
02:38 >> I mean, it just helps get one of our best players on different type of matches.
02:43 If you leave him in a boundary y'all game,
02:45 especially with the notoriety that he gets and the attention that he seeks
02:50 out there on the field for a defense.
02:52 If you put him in a boundary there, basically we're saying,
02:55 here you guys could potentially take Malik out the game.
02:58 So moving him around and
03:00 letting him be that natural player that he is everywhere, it helps out a lot.
03:07 >> What do you know about the sort of defense the Williams is good?
03:10 >> I mean, from what I watched on film, they fly around to the ball.
03:15 They play with high effort.
03:16 Those guys are really, they're coached really well.
03:18 They don't try to do too much, but everybody knows their assignment.
03:23 So it's gonna be a challenging test, especially for how they're playing right
03:27 now.
03:27 Those guys, they're gonna challenge us.
03:30 So it's either are we gonna answer the challenge or are we not.
