00:22 It was almost like in high school when you find that
00:25 group of weird kids that become your friends.
00:27 I probably had about 60 hugs every time I walked in the door.
00:30 Family.
00:31 You know, it's family.
00:32 We were instantly blown away by the band.
00:37 I was like, oh my god, we have to play with these bands.
00:39 No BS.
00:41 Here we are.
00:41 Here's our songs.
00:42 Three chords in a cloud of dust.
00:44 It was just like this huge crowd of people
00:49 jumping up and down and screaming the words.
00:51 It was almost too good to be real.
00:54 What time they fall?
00:55 The reason why rock and roll is alive and well in a big old
01:02 evil city like LA is because of a passionate club
01:05 called Kiss or Kill.
01:06 There's this group of bands that call
01:11 themselves Kiss or Kill.
01:13 They're drunk and they're happy and they're arm and arm
01:15 at the end of the night.
01:16 Everyone was tired with the music scene in LA and said,
01:19 fuck this, we're going to start our own.
01:20 Every week it just got crazier and crazier.
01:23 People were making out in the bathroom.
01:25 Like crazy stuff would happen.
01:26 Are you asking me who have we fucked?
01:28 A couple of fans came up and said,
01:33 I heard you've been excommunicated from Kiss or Kill.
01:36 Which is really funny because Kiss or Kill is not my religion.
01:39 It was like, wow, we really aren't welcome here.
01:41 It was like we were homeless.
01:43 Like, you know, we'd been evicted.
01:45 How are you going to maintain a sense of community
01:47 when you have nowhere for that community to go?
01:50 [MUSIC PLAYING]
01:53 Oh my god.
02:09 This just will never be repeated.
02:11 I'm sorry, you missed it.
