During the 2003 CWC, a memorable moment occurred on March 15th. Kenya faced the mighty Australians in the Super Six stage. Australia restricted Kenya to 174-8. In reply, Australia got off to a flying start scoring 50 runs in 6 overs. By the end of 15 overs, Australia had reached 109-2 and then came Aasif Karim, he started off with a wicket maiden getting the Australian captain plumb lbw in his first over. In his 2nd over which was also a wicket maiden by the way he dismissed Darren Lehmann and Brad Hogg. He bowled 8.2 overs, with 6 maidens, conceded only 7 runs and took 3 wickets. At one point it looked like Kenya could pull off an upset but the rest of the Kenyan bowling was too weak for Australia and Australia secured victory in 31.2 overs. However, for his Amazing performance, Aasif Karim was adjudged the Player of the Match.
