Over £14,000 worth of fines and 190 points have been issued to careless drivers on South Yorkshire roads for various road offences.

Officers took to the M1, M18 and A1 motorway networks – undoubtedly the busiest roads in the region – in an unmarked HGV cab as part of a national road safety project. The five-day operation, held between 25 and 29 September, was set up with the aim of decreasing the number of people killed or seriously injured while driving.
