00:00 I would in its current form, I just don't think that technology is ready for our game.
00:05 I've got absolutely zero against goal line technology, it's such a no brainer, because
00:11 that's quite significant, but it works for our game.
00:15 I just think our game is unique.
00:17 And I know people say, "Well, let's get referees explaining their decisions."
00:20 Oh my God, seriously, could you imagine sitting there listening to a referee explain every
00:26 decision on the game?
00:27 I mean, I'm going to the Gridiron on Sunday, and I love it, I love American football.
00:31 It's three and a half hours, mate.
00:33 Do you want to sit through three and a half hours of listening?
00:36 I mean, this is probably the only time where I'm happy I'm 58 and not 38.
00:41 I don't know what the game's going to look like in 20 years' time, and I'm not sure I
00:45 would like it with the way it's going.
00:48 Because I've always loved the fact that our game has more flaws in it, and that the uniqueness
00:59 of our game is the goal is so hard to get, and we always focus around that.
01:04 And usually goals came from either a combination of brilliance or some flaws by someone, a
01:11 player, a manager, a referee.
01:13 Something happened, a goal came.
01:15 And we're trying to sanitise all that by trying to make it into something that I just don't
01:19 think is our game.
01:20 That's not what I've loved about football.
01:23 Like I said, I've loved the imperfect nature of it.
