00:00 Good morning Sheffield, it's Alistair from the Sheffield Star. I'm speaking to you from the scene at
00:03 Moorfoot today where reportedly last night there was a stabbing here in the
00:07 area outside of a number of nightclubs here on Moorfoot. As of this morning the
00:11 area is largely taped off and many pedestrians aren't allowed to come through.
00:14 They're still able to access most of the businesses here but a thoroughfare from
00:18 that side of Moorfoot through to here at the bottom of the shopping centre,
00:22 shopping district has been barred by police. Several eyewitnesses have told us
00:26 that close to maybe midnight or one o'clock last night a man was critically
00:29 injured in what was reportedly a knife attack. Police descended on the area, at
00:34 least half a dozen cars and a quite a large number of officers came to a close
00:37 off the area and the man was reportedly rushed to hospital by a land ambulance.
00:42 We've asked South Yorkshire Police what his condition is this morning.
00:45 The situation right here is it's a very large area that's been cordoned off.
00:48 Pedestrians are being told they're not allowed to come through and as of right now
00:52 the area's been cordoned off for the best part of 12 hours as well so quite a
00:56 serious scene as far as we can tell. We'll be able to bring more on this as it
00:59 happens and we're in touch with South Yorkshire Police.
