The Marina Fish and Chips in Chapel St Leonards has been shortlisted in the national Top 40 fish and chip shops awards. Lincolnshire World went along to find out their secret.

00:25 We are super proud, really proud. This is the second year we've been placed in the top 40.
00:31 This year we're hoping to get a little bit further along in the competition.
00:35 So, yeah, we're really happy and super proud of all the staff as well.
00:38 So what do you think the secret of your success is?
00:41 Well, I can't reveal too much.
00:45 That's the secret.
00:48 But no, we only buy the top quality ingredients and it's always got to be the most sustainable that we can.
00:56 We're always inventing new bits and bobs for the menus to keep the menus fresh.
01:01 We think it's really important as well to keep the tradition of the fish and chips really strong in the UK.
01:08 So trying to get the next generation involved as well in the fish and chips.
01:12 Do you think it's still one of the best value meals?
01:15 Definitely. Yeah, I mean, last year it was, there was a lot of bad negativity going on with the increases and everything like that.
01:22 But it's happened. It's not just in the fish and chips, it's everything.
01:26 But we still do feel that it is good value for money.
01:30 It's one of the top 40 and they deserve it. They are amazing.
01:35 So what was good about them?
01:37 We came a few months ago for the first time and discovered this fish and chip shop.
01:42 We had a small fish and chips and it was amazing. It was just really tasty and very reasonably priced as well.
01:49 Homemade curry sauce, mushy peas, everything's top quality.
01:53 So that's one of the reasons why we came away this weekend to come back and treat ourselves to a small fish and chips for lunch.

02:02 Definitely. And I will recommend it to everybody.
