00:00 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:02 >> How do you feel to break the record?
00:02 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:05 >> I mean, I hate to sound like so boring about it, but I just wanted to win.
00:11 It was good though, I think it, I'm happy because, I mean,
00:14 my teammates were so hyped about it and everybody was kind of like, man,
00:17 we've been chasing that, been chasing this.
00:18 So it's just, I think I'm in a blessed position because, I mean,
00:23 it's almost like my teammates wanted more from me than I do, but
00:26 I mean, it's definitely a blessing, I think.
00:28 >> You said after the last game, that because the offense struggled so
00:32 much, there's gonna have to be some conversations.
00:34 >> Mm-hm.
00:35 >> What was said and did you see the end result of this today?
00:40 >> So yeah, I said there was gonna be some tough conversations after last game.
00:43 And those conversations are between the people with a fleur de lis on their
00:48 helmet and on their hat, aka coaches and players.
00:50 So I won't tell you exact details about it, but
00:54 I think anytime you find yourself in kind of like a lull or
01:00 a rut in anything, but obviously in this game, in this sport,
01:05 you gotta find a way to fix it fast, right?
01:07 Because sometimes you get in those ruts and it compounds and
01:12 it starts to just turn into your identity.
01:15 So that's the one thing that we didn't want to happen,
01:17 because we know what our identity is.
01:19 And I think we kind of got a chance to put it on display today.
01:24 Everybody was locked in and focused on the goal and that was the win.
01:27 We wasn't really looking at a score, we was just going, trying to play.
01:30 >> How do you think the run came off you guys in the red zone today?
01:34 >> I think we talked about it during the week.
01:36 I mean, when we can run the ball efficiently, it just opens everything up.
01:40 And then the defense being able to stop the run,
01:43 I just wanna address, cuz I was just thinking about it.
01:45 Tyron Matthews owes me a pick.
01:48 I think Cam owed me like a sack or two.
01:50 Mike owed me a catch.
01:51 So I'm gonna put Mike and Derek in the same bracket.
01:54 I don't know what it was, the throw or the catch.
01:57 Mike owed me a catch.
01:58 Chris owed me a catch, cuz I seen him make them catches before on that sideline.
02:03 What else?
02:06 I'm gonna just blame someone on DA just cuz.
02:09 >> [LAUGH] >> Pete was good today.
02:13 I think it was good to see Pete out there having fun.
02:16 It was like he took a deep breath and just exhaled.
02:19 It was collaborative though.
02:21 I think anytime we go out there, execute, we still have some penalties.
02:27 Foster owed me one.
02:29 C's I think owed me one.
02:30 Shaheed owed me one.
02:34 I'm just recalling everything that hindered us from having the score go even
02:39 higher, but anytime we can go out there and collaborate.
02:41 I think me and Derek were talking all game.
02:44 I was going to Pete, kinda trying to nudge him to run some things that
02:49 Mike likes, that the O-line likes, some things that I saw that I like.
02:53 Talking to JT, talking to RC, just collaborating and
02:56 doing what everybody's comfortable with doing.
02:59 Talking to everybody, trying to get in the minds of everybody on the O and
03:03 get the ball spread out and trying to be efficient on offense.
03:07 So we got too many playmakers to have a shitty offense.
03:11 I think today was a good example of what we could do when we're collaborating and
03:15 hitting.
03:16 >> I'm present.
03:17 >> O'd you how, like they almost got it?
03:19 O'd you how?
03:21 >> Shaheed went off sides, Foster went off sides, so O me as in don't do that shit.
03:25 [LAUGH] >> How present was?
03:28 >> I mean, I got a very, very good memory.
03:31 So I think those dudes, they harder on themselves than I'll ever be, but
03:36 I'm gonna talk shit though.
03:37 I mean, it's like we need that.
03:39 They know it though.
03:40 It's not like me getting on them, but it's like, man, we gotta,
03:43 if we, some of those penalties, I mean, we're doing what we're doing.
03:47 We need to stay ahead of the sand so we can get more.
03:49 Like, shoot, Foster jumped offside, it might have been a ball coming to him.
03:52 You know what I'm saying?
03:53 Shaheed jumped offside, it might have been a ball coming to him.
03:55 So those guys, no, we take accountability for it.
03:59 We just gotta, even with a win like this, there's still stuff we can clean up.
04:02 So I'm saying that to say it's still more out there.
04:05 It's still more.
04:05 I mean, it's still more for me out there.
04:07 Like, it's some stuff I can clean up.
04:09 It's some stuff Derrick wants to clean up.
04:10 It's some stuff that we still got in our back pocket that we didn't
04:13 call today.
04:14 I know Mike wanted some play.
04:16 He was going crazy for it the whole day.
04:18 And Derrick was like, bro, no, no, hold on.
04:21 Let's relax.
04:22 We'll get it off him.
04:22 But I mean, it's just, when guys are out there hungry and
04:26 we're hitting on all the cores and just collaborating and having fun.
04:30 I mean, you see what the result is.
04:33 >> You talked about the level of collab.
04:34 >> Standard area, like where you guys came here and
04:36 supposed to be, was this close to that?
04:38 Like, are you stopping in the right direction?
04:40 >> Yeah, I think, I mean, the seven years I've been here, we used to a certain,
04:46 I mean, I'm just talking for offense.
04:48 I'll talk for offense first.
04:49 We used to operating at a certain type of efficiency and a certain level of,
04:54 I guess, just, I mean, like efficiency and effort and
05:01 just optimization of where we can score at will, right?
05:05 And we can stay ahead of the chains and limit the penalties and
05:08 the self inflicted wounds.
05:10 So when you can do that in this offense, man,
05:14 the possibilities are really endless.
05:16 And like I said, with the playmakers we have, there's enough for everybody.
05:19 And then as a team, as a whole, I mean,
05:21 when the defense is doing what they're doing, it can get ugly.
05:25 So I mean, it's a great feeling to go out there and kind of put that on display and
05:30 kind of wash away what happened last week.
05:34 >> Final question for this guy?
05:35 >> What was last week like at the facility?
05:38 >> At the facility?
05:39 >> Yeah, I mean, just coming off last week's loss and
05:41 just kind of trying to put that behind you.
05:42 >> Man, it was another work week.
05:44 A win or a loss, I think the loss is hurt, but it's the same thing.
05:49 You gotta move, you gotta kind of have a short memory with this profession.
05:55 So we lose, obviously, you never wanna lose.
05:59 And sometimes guys, and I'm not talking about us, but
06:03 sometimes I think it's easy to kind of get stuck in that.
06:06 And like I said, that love of, man, we lost.
06:08 Like, what are we gonna do, what are we gonna do?
06:11 Instead of just being like, all right, we lost, let's flip the page and
06:14 let's keep going forward and do what we gotta do in practice to put our best foot
06:17 forward to the next show.
06:18 So that's all we focus on.
06:20 I mean, it was another work week.
06:21 Obviously, we addressed what happened on Monday, and
06:26 then we had an off day Tuesday and got to work on Wednesday.
06:29 It is what it is, it's rinse and repeat.
06:32 So, I mean, we got how many more games, we gotta keep going.
06:36 >> Any reason it looks so easy?
06:37 >> I don't know, it was great weather, I don't know.
06:43 It was collaborative, man, it felt good, man.
06:46 It was a team win, special teams, defense, offense.
06:48 That's kind of, when it looks easy like that, it's probably a reason, and
06:52 that's when it's collaborative.
06:54 >> Any reason from their setup, why they make it easy?
06:57 >> I don't know, I ain't never had a Patriot on my helmet, so
06:59 I don't know what they got going on over there.
07:01 I mean, they'll--
07:02 Get out.
07:02 Yeah, they--
07:03 Go.
07:03 They got to figure it out.
