The top stories for the week ending October 6, 2023, include U.S. sales results for third quarter, another epic battle for NHRA pilots Matt Hagan and Leah Pruett, and six new Badge of Honor trails for Jeep® off-road enthusiasts.

00:13 The numbers are in for the third quarter, and total U.S. sales saw a 1% decrease versus last year,
00:22 one percentage point shy of last year's total U.S. sales for the same period.
00:28 With a total of 380,563 vehicles sold, several brands saw key vehicle sales increases.
00:36 Sales for the Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid significantly increased compared
00:41 to the same period last year, showing a 96% increase.
00:46 The Pacifica Hybrid currently holds the No. 3 spot among top-selling PHEVs in the U.S.
00:52 The Jeep Wrangler 4xe, Grand Wagoneer, and Jeep Grand Cherokee performed well,
00:58 seeing double-digit increases versus Q3 of last year.
01:02 Both the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe sit at the No. 1 and No. 2 sales spots
01:09 respectively for plug-in hybrids in the U.S.
01:13 The Ram brand saw Ram Promaster sales increase by 34%
01:18 and Commercial Fleet total sales were up 19% versus 2022.

01:30 past quarter and are off to a hot sales start.
01:34 Six new trails have been added to the Jeep Badge of Honor program.
01:39 Two in Kansas, two in Pennsylvania, one in Arkansas, and one in Missouri,
01:44 raising the total trail count to 68.
01:48 All 68 Badge of Honor trails are included in the new 2024 Jeep Wrangler and 2024 Jeep Gladiator

02:39 the top position on the points leaderboard.
02:42 Top fuel pilot Leah Pruitt raced her way to a second-place finish this past weekend,
02:47 also pushing her up the points leaderboard.
02:50 Both Hagen and Pruitt have three races left to get them to the championship, with no holding
02:55 back for the final races of the 2023 season.
