00:00 You know, they put the word "great" in front of Britain for a reason.
00:13 Cromer in North Norfolk.
00:15 It's a microcosm of everything that's happening in Great Britain.
00:20 You get quintessential Great Britishness.
00:23 We are closer to Amsterdam across the sea there than we are to London.
00:28 Next stop, Europe.
00:29 You feel that sense of pinching here sometimes.
00:31 We are in Europe!
00:32 We are Europe!
00:33 I'm a European person.
00:34 Two thirds of North Norfolk voted to leave the EU.
00:37 There's a bit of rivalry there.
00:38 I'm quite happy to show you that I voted to leave.
00:41 But, you know, we all have to live in the same town and work together, enjoy each other's company.
00:46 The Cromer Pier Show, the only end of pier performance in the world that's still going strong.
00:52 Six days, two shows for three months.
00:55 Ladies and gentlemen, it's showtime.
00:59 Dancing, singing and comedy.
01:02 We are in changing times. Aren't we in changing times, sir?
01:05 We're going to stay clear of anything to do with the EU or Brexit.
01:08 There'll be no mention of Brexit this evening.

01:14 Not only did he understand it was a part of British history,
01:17 but he understood that he wouldn't see anything like it anywhere else in the world.
01:21 We've had it better than that.
01:23 Stop it there, stop.
01:25 I am not putting my name to this piece of material right now. It's not good enough.
01:29 [Laughter]
01:30 Whatever's happening outside, this will still be going on at the end of the pier.
01:35 Four grown men come onto the stage and whack themselves in the privates with wooden spoons.
01:39 You'd think it's the funniest bloody thing you've ever seen.
01:41 That is a sign of broken Britain right there.
01:45 [Singing]
01:48 I'm sure everything will be fine.
01:52 I'll have complete confidence in it.
01:55 [Water lapping]
