00:00 So how was your first day with the new lock up boot?
00:16 Yeah so far so good, we've got the kids actually in school in about five minutes so it'll be
00:20 a bit of a battle to get their pouches unlocked nice and quickly before they go home but a
00:25 very smooth start.
00:26 We distributed the phones period one this morning in separate year meetings, all the
00:30 kids are on board with it and we've had no issues throughout the day so it's been a great
00:33 start.
00:34 So how was your first day without your phone today?
00:52 I was good, I didn't really notice but yeah I can survive without my phone.
00:57 Yeah it wasn't too hard but certainly something to get used to.
01:01 So how was the feeling around the school today without the phones?
01:13 Yeah it was good, it's going to be a big change for the kids, everyone becomes quite addicted
01:17 to mobile phones and cellular data so going around the playground at recess and lunch
01:22 time there was a lot more interaction, kids actually outside playing touch football, basketball,
01:26 communicating to one another which is great.
01:29 As a school we'll just have to be mindful of putting on appropriate activities for our
01:33 kids to engage in at recess and lunch time, extracurricular clubs, debating, public speaking,
01:38 music, dance, drama, sport, providing them opportunities to stay engaged but so far so
01:44 good, it's day one and hopefully it continues to be implemented well and the kids were all
01:49 pretty positive today and on board with it so hopefully over time we'll see positive
01:53 interactions in the classroom, improved learning results and also better communication skills
01:58 amongst our kids.
01:59 Go Terps!
