Many Inverness residents have been left 'heartbroken' after their homes were severely flooded and have been consecutively for the past 17 years.

00:41 And I think because of the climate changing, the weather seems to be more sporadic.

00:48 You never know really when you're going to get these floods.
00:51 And when they happen, they seem to be much worse than they've ever been.
00:55 So it's really crucial that we get it sorted.
00:58 It's so destroying because, you know, you try to keep it nice and you know, we've been

01:04 We're not intending to leave or move.

01:07 But it is, it's so destroying.
01:09 And when it gets to that stage of damage, our son who uses the basement, I mean, he
01:15 can't use it because we're, you know, we fear for his health, for damp and, you know, mould
01:20 and things like that.
01:21 It has to be dealt with now.
01:23 We can't go through it more than this.
01:27 It's too damaging now and we're just, we're going to have to fight back.
01:30 Inside of Hayley's house, there's actually a river coming down there from the other street

01:37 And that's after the water has dispensed from our street.
01:46 I think the whole system needs to be dug up and a replacement drainage system put in place
01:51 because clearly that isn't fit for purpose.

01:56 Ampteen people have been out over the years trying to fix the problem.
