00:00 What's up legend?
00:02 Good to see you. How are you?
00:04 Dude, I didn't recognize you. You look so much weight. You look great.
00:06 Thank you.
00:08 Your place is in the paper right now. You're selling your place in LA.
00:10 Any reason why you're selling? You're getting out of LA?
00:12 Not getting out of LA.
00:14 We bought a house in Studio City.
00:16 So it's just about selling the house that we've been in for...
00:20 Hold on, sorry.
00:22 Selling the house we've been living in for 22 years because it's 8,000 square foot.
00:27 You just don't need it?
00:29 No, it's just the two of us. It's kind of a big crib.
00:33 I hear ya. What's up brother? How you doing?
00:35 Alright.
00:37 Oh, I like that bag. It's a dope bag.
00:39 Thank you.
00:41 What's one thing you know about the industry now that you wish you knew 20 years ago when you first started?
00:45 Um...
00:57 Anything you were just like really like, "Man, I wish I knew this when I first went on."
01:01 No, I'm trying to...
01:03 Any game changer in your career?
01:05 No, like I can't complain about my career. It went so fucking smoothly, you know?
01:09 It's like I can't even stand at this stage of the game 30 years in and be like, "I should or shouldn't have done that."
01:18 Yeah, no complaints, man. Even the mistakes got me to like where I am right now. I'm happy with that.
01:24 What was the biggest mistake when you look back now? You're like, "Man, that was actually a good thing. It was a learning thing and it actually worked out pretty well."
01:29 When Mallrats came out, it tanked hard. It took a big shit. Everyone hated it. All the critics hated it.
01:34 I was like, "Oh my God. I really thought we made something cool."
01:38 And then 10 years later, people forgot about that. It's like one of the most celebrated films I've ever made.
01:45 Yeah, it's a cool classic. I mean, for my generation.
01:47 If you wait long enough, even the failures can kind of come around and wind up being success.
01:54 Yeah, buddy. Good to see you, man.
