00:00 Our victory in the Asian Games is sort of a miracle.
00:04 The fact is, it is.
00:05 Our victory in the Asian Gold Medal is almost a miracle.
00:08 While we're still here,
00:17 we're still happy with the victory of DLAS,
00:20 I hope people don't see this DLAS victory
00:23 as a validation that the current DLAS system works.
00:28 It's not a validation that the current DLAS system,
00:33 the country preparations,
00:35 the drama, the controversies,
00:38 still works.
00:39 Who told us that our victory in the Asian Games
00:45 is sort of a miracle?
00:47 The fact is, it is.
00:49 Our victory in the Asian Gold Medal is almost a miracle.
00:52 You saw the winner,
00:54 Jason Brownlee, with all those feats and features that he made.
00:57 You saw him in Team Kone,
00:59 he was like a gen out there
01:01 when it comes to manipulating the game.
01:03 The way he coached that game,
01:05 he mastered the coaching of that game.
01:08 Before these Asian Games,
01:10 what was the noteworthy victory of DLAS?
01:13 The 2013 FIBA Asia Cup here in Manila.
01:18 You know, we beat Korea,
01:20 we entered the finals against Iran,
01:22 and in so doing,
01:23 we made it to the World Cup for the first time in like decades.
01:27 That was in 2013.
01:29 Now, it's 2023.
01:31 This is our noteworthy victory,
01:35 Asian Games,
01:36 first gold in 61 years, right?
01:38 So, if we follow this whole system that we have in DLAS now,
01:44 we might wait another 10 years
01:48 before we see another miracle like this one.
01:51 Will we let it reach that point?
01:53 So, what do we do?
01:54 While we're still happy, let's start changes.
01:58 Top to bottom changes to the way
02:01 the basketball is being run right now.
02:03 What can we do?
02:04 First of all, let's put a system to it.
02:08 In the past few years,
02:09 there were a lot of wrong decisions made by the SDP.
02:14 Let's start from scratch.
02:16 They say, "Fresh start," right?
02:18 Why don't we involve more people in the decision-making process?
02:23 There are a lot of stakeholders.
02:25 There's UAP, NCA, NPBL, PBL.
02:30 Why don't we involve them?
02:32 And why don't we harness their help?
02:35 Not just one company or one person
02:38 doing all the decisions for themselves.
02:41 If we do that,
02:42 maybe we can have a more healthy program
02:46 involving more stakeholders.
02:48 And more importantly,
02:50 we can reach the grassroots.
02:52 If we can do that,
02:53 maybe we can have a 12-day preparation.
02:57 We don't have to pay players to play for the GILA.
03:02 We don't have to wait for a tournament after every defeat.
03:05 As long as there's a program,
03:07 I'm sure it will be a good one.
03:09 Who knows?
03:10 We may not have to wait another 10 years
03:12 for another miracle from the SBD.
03:16 So, I hope that
03:18 I can pray for the GILAs amid the euphoria of this victory.
03:23 Let's do this.
03:24 Let's ride the momentum
03:25 and institute changes where they are needed.
03:29 Hopefully, moving forward,
03:32 the future of the GILAs will be better.
