00:00 Welcome to WatchMojo and today we're counting down our picks for the top 20 Mega Digimon.
00:10 For this list we'll be looking at the most iconic Final Form Digimon, taking into account
00:14 their design and impact on the series.
00:17 Keep in mind we'll only be considering single Megas here, so fusions don't qualify.
00:29 Number 20, Siriusmon.
00:31 Hero's fully grown partner is a shining example of how to show off a Mega the right
00:36 way.
00:37 As a cross between a Dragon and a Knight, Siriusmon feels like the natural end for Gammonon's
00:43 line.
00:44 Sure, it took a few Dark Digivolutions to get there, but the stylish results are hard
00:51 to ignore.
00:52 Just look at his arms.
00:53 They're not swords, they're not blasters, they're swords that turn into blasters.
00:58 And boy, does he know how to use them.
01:05 As Regulusmon learned first hand, you really don't want to be on the wrong end of Siriusmon's
01:11 planet knuckle attack.
01:18 Number 19, Piedmon.
01:21 He may look like a clown, but Piedmon is no laughing matter.
01:32 It's easy to get confused considering he treats every fight like a circus act.
01:37 Except his swords aren't props, his contricts are deadly, and he can make anyone disappear
01:43 permanently.
01:50 As far as villain plots go, turning the Digidestined into collectible keychains is a particular
01:55 kind of terrifying.
01:57 Not to mention effective.
01:59 If it weren't for a Hail Mary from Magna Angemon, Piedmon could have taken out all
02:04 the Digidestined in one fell swoop.
02:07 Clearly, they don't give out the title of Dark Master to just anyone.
02:17 Number 18, Mirage Galgamon.
02:20 He's got a cape, he's got slick armor, and he's got claws for fingers.
02:24 Yep, there's no doubt about it, Mirage Galgamon is the total alpha of Mega Digimon.
02:33 Even though his wolf-like design is a clear wink at his prior forms, Mirage Galgamon can
02:38 put up his dukes like never before.
02:40 Or in his case, his claws.
02:50 Luckily he doesn't stay empty-handed for very long.
02:53 Upon his ascendance into boost mode, Mirage Galgamon gets a deeper shade of blue and slick
02:59 new energy weapons.
03:01 If you thought Thomas' partner was strong before, you should really stay clear once
03:05 he starts swinging that mace.
03:13 Number 17, Cherubimon.
03:15 You could say this Digimon gives off some mixed signals.
03:19 See, Cherubimon has two forms, one good and one evil.
03:24 Unfortunately, the Digidestined usually end up facing the latter.
03:31 For what it's worth, Cherubimon always delivers one hell of a good fight.
03:38 Mainly because he is strong enough to blast through any Digimon in his path, ancient or
03:43 not.
03:49 In a broader sense, it's a testament to Cherubimon's design that all it takes is
03:53 a few color swaps to go from terrifying to adorable.
03:57 It's not always easy to see the good in him, but it sure is entertaining.
04:07 Number 16, Lucemon.
04:09 Despite his appearance, Lucemon has more in common with demons than angels.
04:14 But you don't have to take our word for it, he literally has a so-called "Shadow
04:19 Lord" form.
04:20 Believe it or not, it's his true mega too.
04:29 The dragon wears symbols for all the seven deadly sins, and even carries a giant orb
04:34 of darkness too.
04:36 Can you tell he represents the coming of the end?
04:39 That's no folklore either.
04:48 In Digimon Frontier, he pretty much succeeded in destroying the entire digital world.
04:54 If it weren't for Susanomon, there's no telling where Lucemon's rampage would've
05:00 stopped.
05:03 Number 15, EmperorGreymon.
05:06 As if ancient spirits weren't cool enough, how about five of them in one?
05:11 By combining the powers of flame, ice, wind, earth and wood, a whole new kind of Greymon
05:17 was born.
05:22 That helmet should look familiar to anyone who watched the original Digimon Adventure,
05:26 but the Crimson Armor and Shiny Boar Sword are EmperorGreymon exclusives.
05:32 So is the part where he starts using his blades as a flaming crossbow.
05:40 Yes, EmperorGreymon shares part of his name with another iconic Digimon, but considering
05:49 everything he brings to the table, it's clear that this mega burns bright on his own
05:53 merits too.
06:02 Number 14, Diaboromon.
06:04 Villains, take note.
06:06 This is the mon to beat.
06:11 In a spine-tingling change of pace, Diaboromon didn't just try to conquer the world or
06:16 defeat the DigiDestined.
06:17 No, he hacked into the internet and launched actual nukes.
06:23 And that was before he started multiplying.
06:25 Suffice it to say, Diaboromon was a terrifying force the likes of which the series had never
06:31 seen before.
06:40 But that makes sense considering he looks like he crawled out of a horror film.
06:44 It's a badge of honor that it took Digimon's first DNA Digivolution to finally reboot this
06:49 virus for good.
06:54 Number 13, Lilithmon.
06:57 Let's get the big question out of the way.
06:59 Is Lilithmon an irredeemable villain?
07:02 Most definitely.
07:03 But do we care?
07:04 Let's just say being bad has never looked so good.
07:11 As one of Lord Bagra's generals in Digimon Fusion, she proved that seduction is a very
07:17 strong weapon on the battlefield.
07:19 That's not to say she's all eye candy though.
07:28 With her sinister strategies and mastery of darkness, she proved a very worthy foe for
07:33 Mikey and the Freedom Fighters.
07:35 Of course, it doesn't hurt that she's easy on the eyes.
07:38 Hey, it's not our fault Lilithmon's based on the Sin of Lust.
07:46 Number 12, Justimon.
07:49 This guy is like if a tokusatsu character became a Digimon, and it does not disappoint.
07:59 The design works because Justimon wears his influences on his sleeve.
08:03 Somewhat literally.
08:05 His right arm is an actual metal prosthetic.
08:08 Great for giving the D-Reaper a one-two punch of justice.
08:18 If that doesn't work, his arm has two other forms that can dish out the pain too.
08:23 While Justimon's animated appearance are a bit on the slim side, Ryo and his partner
08:28 have made every second count.
08:30 Plus, if you're only going to show up for one real fight, the struggle against the D-Reaper
08:36 is a pretty good choice.
08:43 Number 11, ShineGreymon.
08:46 Nothing burns brighter than Marcus Damon and his nasty habit of talking with his fists.
08:52 As such, when Agumon inevitably reached his final stage, the resulting ShineGreymon was
08:57 every bit the mega that Marcus deserved.
09:03 Both in design and personality.
09:05 Later, Burstmode took that idea and brought it to a whole other level.
09:10 There, ShineGreymon got a sword, a shield, and wings all made of pure fire.
09:21 And best of all, he learned to throw a right hook just like his trusty partner.
09:26 As we all know, nothing screams friendship quite like decking a supervillain in the face
09:31 together.
09:33 Number 10, Jesmon.
09:39 A more recent addition to the mega lineup, this strikingly stylish swordsman is actually
09:44 the final form of the adorable Hackmon.
09:47 As the Digidestined once again make a return to the digital world, they're greeted to
09:51 the side of this white-clad knight taking on the nigh-unbeatable Alphamon.
09:56 As far as first impressions go, we have to give this guy full points.
10:03 Number 9, Rosemon.
10:05 While we were already acquainted with one of these fierce floral fighters in Data Squad,
10:10 it was her appearance in the Tri series that really shook things up.
10:13 When faced against the threat of an evil Imperialdramon, both Joe and Mimi's belief in their partners
10:19 managed to push them all the way to mega.
10:24 Luckily, Rosemon isn't just a looker, she's also got some serious power.
10:30 And as a result, they managed to put the kibosh on the villain's plans.
10:34 A rose by any other name, amirite?
10:41 Number 8, Machinedramon.
10:52 When it comes to the Dark Masters, it's fair to say that none look quite as epic as
10:56 this hulking mass of metal.
10:59 His size, stature, and the fact he has two giant bloody cannons on his back ensures this
11:04 beast is the epitome of deadly.
11:15 Before he met his end at Wargreymon's hand, he managed to decimate the Digidestined on
11:20 multiple occasions.
11:21 Luckily, he got something of an encore in the Tri movies, where it took the combined
11:26 might of three other mega-level Digimon just to hold a candle to him.
11:36 Number 7, Sucuyamon.
11:38 Yes, we discounted Fusion Digimon on our list, but we didn't say anything about Biomerges.
11:48 After bonding with her partner, Rika, the already badass Renamon was able to ascend
11:53 to her strongest form.
11:55 As enchanting as she is deadly, this staff-wielding fox more than managed to hold her own against
12:00 the threat of the D-Reaper.
12:06 Not only is she one awesome character, but also a shining example of just how far both
12:12 this tamer and her partner had grown over the course of the series.
12:21 Number 6, Alphamon.
12:28 The unsung powerhouse of the franchise, this paragon of beatdowns has always strived for
12:33 justice.
12:34 As the final form of Dorumon, Alphamon was able to save the inhabitants of the digital
12:39 world from the threat of the program known as Yggdrasil.
12:43 His sacrifice and heroism made him a legend, so we were more than happy to see him make
12:48 an appearance in the Tri-Movies too.
12:57 Number 5, MetalGururumon.
13:04 One of the two arguably most iconic Digimon in the whole franchise, this wolf is the end
13:09 result of Gabumon, imbued with so much friendship that he gets coated head to toe with armaments.
13:16 With more missiles, explosives and zero-degree weaponry than he knows what to do with, it's
13:30 no wonder that he's not only taken out a Dark Master all by himself, but also managed
13:35 to tear apart WarGreymon during his little rebellious phase.
13:42 Number 4, Seraphimon.
13:52 Despite his initial pulpy appearance, Patamon's heavenly evolutions have always managed to
13:57 stun fans with just how glorious they are.
14:01 Standing at the pinnacle of them all is this armoured Archangel.
14:11 Unfortunately he didn't get much of a chance to shine during his initial appearance in
14:15 the first Digimon movie.
14:17 However, he's certainly gotten his fair share of screen time since, in both Digimon
14:21 Frontier, the 2020 remake and the Tri-Series.
14:26 You haven't seen divine judgement until you've seen this guy bust out the strike
14:30 of the seven stars.
14:37 Number 3, Gallantmon.
14:45 Following on from the heartbreaking death of Leomon, not to mention Gilmon's fall
14:50 from grace into the deadly Megidramon, it looked like nothing could overcome Beelzemon's
14:55 ruthlessness.
14:56 Not until Takato and his best bud managed to access the first ever Biomage.
15:11 Fuelled by their desire to fight as one, their wish is granted as they fuse together to become
15:16 the digital world's noblest of knights.
15:19 With Joust and Shield in hand, Gallantmon has gone on to show that chivalry can be a
15:24 lethal weapon.
15:34 Number 2, Beelzemon.
15:43 Let's be honest, we all found Impmon to be annoying from day one.
15:47 Loud and obnoxious, he was the furthest thing from cute.
15:57 Then this happened.
15:59 After finding himself forcibly digivolving into his mega form, the little firestarter
16:03 went on to become a vengeful, gun-wielding motorcyclist.
16:07 He slaughtered his way across the digital world, causing chaos everywhere he went, all
16:13 before finding himself with the series' most heartfelt redemption arc.
16:17 Who would have guessed this guy would go on to become one of the franchise's most complex
16:21 of characters?

16:44 Number 1, WarGreymon.
16:51 Often imitated, never duplicated.
16:54 While Black WarGreymon stands out as an awesome character all of his own, there's just no
16:58 beating the original.
17:00 The armored embodiment of courage, this draconic humanoid has managed to lay the beatdown on
17:06 several of the franchise's biggest villains, often by spinning himself around like a tornado
17:12 and slicing them to ribbons.
17:19 While we'll undoubtedly get plenty more Mega Digimon in the near future, none will
17:24 truly be able to replicate the impact of this digital warrior.
