00:36 When we get deeper into the clip, it appears that his ex-wife Kim Kardashian has been urging
00:43 him to get help for years.
00:56 This video is of a documentary that was made in 2018 and it has come back into the spotlight.
01:03 In this clip, Kim is heard talking to Kanye West about taking his medication.
01:15 The clip shows Kanye West on the phone talking to Kim and during the call, he asks Kim to
01:20 support him publicly instead of criticizing him for his outbursts and calling him names
01:25 like narcissistic.
01:33 And then he tells Kim that he needs her encouragement, not criticism.
01:48 And later in the conversation, that's when Kim challenges Kanye by bringing up the topic
01:53 of medication.
01:54 And it seems like this is a subject that the family has talked about with him before, given
01:58 the way that she starts to talk about it.
02:01 Like Kim is heard over the phone saying things like
02:04 I'm loving the idea of a license deal.
02:15 Like I don't want the responsibility.
02:18 You know, things like that.
02:20 And the call is a little bit muffled, so it's really hard to make out what Kim is saying.
02:24 But she's clearly trying to convince him to take some meds.
02:28 But at the same time, it sounds like she's kind of given up because it doesn't seem like
02:34 he's actually listening.
02:35 At one point in the conversation, Kim did suggest that Kanye reach out to a doctor that
02:40 they both knew.
02:41 But it seemed like the idea didn't really register with Kanye.
02:44 It was kind of just brushed to the side.
02:46 I like licensing deals sometimes too.
02:48 Like Adidas is a license deal.
02:49 I'll be fine to do all licensing deals and shit.
02:52 And that particular clip ended with Kanye referring to both their marriage and life
02:56 as a game and it being fun to him.
03:00 Marriage is, you know, I think it's fun.
03:04 It's like a game.
03:05 Life is a game.
03:06 So maybe he wasn't really taking medication seriously.
03:09 Maybe he didn't really think that he needed them.
03:11 But either way, rumors about Kanye's hesitance to take medication have circulated for years,
03:16 despite his public acknowledgment of actually suffering from bipolar disorder.
03:21 Kim eventually did file for divorce in 2021, which was finalized in 2022.
03:27 However, Kanye's behavior seemed to have intensified after their separation.
03:33 We saw the whole thing with Pete Davidson and his public rants on Twitter and social
03:37 media.
03:38 And it's been said that him not taking his medication as he promised was a big factor
03:43 with Kim filing for divorce.
03:46 Kanye West has since moved on, though, and he's been vacationing in Italy and other
03:49 parts of the world with his current wife, Bianca Sensuri, who is reportedly helping
03:54 him to launch a career comeback after he was canceled back in 2022 for making some very
04:02 offensive comments.
04:03 And that ended a collaboration deal that he had with Adidas.
04:07 Despite legal issues, though, Kanye West and Bianca continued their provocative fashion
04:12 show publicly.
04:14 And recently, Italians didn't like it.
04:17 Like, they were calling for them to be punished by the law for indecent exposure in public.
04:23 But on the flip side, many Italians and other people in different countries are actually
04:26 now embracing Kanye West and Bianca Sensuri's public fashion show.
04:32 And reports are saying now that this is more of a publicity stunt than anything, because
04:37 as they say, even bad publicity is actually good publicity.
04:41 And this will help him when he launches new albums as well as new clothing, because people
04:47 are talking about him anyway, so that's a good thing.
04:51 But guys, I really want to know what you got to say about this.
04:54 Like, do you think Kanye West needs medication?
04:57 Or do you think that Kim as well as other people were just kind of being a little bit
05:01 too harsh on him and kind of trying to medicate him so that he can not say what he needed
05:09 to say?
05:10 Because again, he did admit to being bipolar and that can be treated with medication.
05:15 And it is not specified in the clip what medication they were actually talking about, so maybe
05:20 it was something else other than the bipolar medication.
05:24 So that's also another point to consider too.
05:27 Were they just trying to over-medicate Kanye West?
