00:00 But we as an offense had too many details.
00:08 You know I'm not gonna tell you what happened.
00:09 And yes, we know.
00:10 And yes, we know what it was and all those things.
00:12 And I won't say it, but there's little details that if we just do those things
00:17 right, you're looking like, my gosh, we scored 28 points.
00:22 And I just wanna win, man.
00:26 The yards are awesome, great, thanks.
00:29 Yes, but couldn't care less.
00:31 I just want to win, that's all I care about, is winning football games.
00:36 And if we don't do those details right, and every single time,
00:39 especially when the game's on the line, that's when it matters most,
00:42 then we're gonna have this feeling more often than not.
00:45 >> I know you're not gonna detail specifically what happened, but
00:47 are we correct to assume on the one to Rashid,
00:51 I think it was maybe the second to last pass of the game.
00:53 You were throwing it to a different spot than where you expected.
00:56 I mean, that looked like a wrong page thing, right?
00:59 >> Yeah, that one we were on the wrong page, and that's on me.
01:03 The communication of it, I gotta clean that up for him and make it better for him.
01:07 >> Was there too much of that tonight?
01:09 I mean, were there several examples of that tonight?
01:11 >> We had a couple, yeah, yeah, we had a couple of those.
01:13 And we did some things very well, we did some things explosively and
01:17 all those things, but that doesn't, just having a few explosives or
01:22 a lot of yards doesn't win football games.
01:24 What wins football games is doing the right thing at the right moment every
01:28 single time, because Houston, give them so much credit.
01:32 They are such a good team, such a great young team that flies around,
01:36 they play fast, tough defense.
01:38 And if you are not on your details, especially against this scheme,
01:42 they're gonna be on theirs, and it cost us today.
01:46 >> Is it surprising or unacceptable this many weeks into the season?
01:51 >> I would say it's unacceptable.
01:52 Today was unacceptable, and that's on us as players to make sure that we're on our
01:56 details when the game is on the line, for sure.
02:01 >> There was a fourth down, it played Alvin,
02:06 was it designed to go to him on that specific?
02:08 >> I was gonna try and throw it to Mike, but the backer was pushing, and
02:10 I didn't wanna throw, obviously, a pick.
02:12 So my option there against that zone is give Alvin a chance to go make a play
02:18 at the sticks, similar to what we did last week against New England.
02:22 >> Do you feel like in the red zone, there's too many mistakes going on,
02:27 like a lack of communication?
02:29 >> Yeah, for sure, bro, yeah, absolutely.
02:31 There was, like we were talking about, it's the details of our assignments,
02:36 making sure that we're doing those things right, and
02:38 we did not do that right today, for sure.
02:40 >> How would you evaluate the pace of the offense,
02:44 were you guys out of sync with each other?
02:48 >> I felt like, no, I didn't feel that.
02:51 I didn't feel that we were out of sync or anything like that.
02:53 I felt like everything that we wanted was there in the run game, pass game.
02:57 Looks, there was a couple times they got in there and
03:02 I had to throw them weights earlier than I wanted to.
03:05 But great designs, guys running open and
03:09 having to check them down for certain things and reasons.
03:13 But I think that that was more of the feeling,
03:18 them making plays rather than a bad feeling like, we can't do this,
03:22 we can't do that, we felt like we were doing some good things.
03:24 >> Obviously, you guys felt like you had the answer, you'd have the results.
03:28 What do you think, how can you get this ship right?
03:32 I assume that you guys have more than enough talent.
03:36 >> Yeah, absolutely, it's gonna take each man, every time you break the huddle.
03:41 I said it before the game, when you break the huddle,
03:44 it's gonna take every man just focusing that much harder on what is my assignment.
03:50 And when they present the look, what is my assignment now?
03:53 And if we do that as players,
03:56 we definitely have enough pieces to go do that, everything we wanna do.
04:02 >> What's your self evaluation of where you wanted to be first time joining
04:06 the new team six weeks into it, how it's going?
04:08 >> Well, I didn't wanna be three and three.
04:12 I think we have let a couple of these get away from us.
04:15 It's early in the season, you play four quarters and then one more.
04:19 We always break it down that way.
04:21 And what we've earned, I always, Coach Del Rio, I said, you are what you've earned.
04:26 We've earned three and three.
04:27 And that isn't what we wanted, it's not what I wanted,
04:32 it's not what I expected, but it's what we've earned.
04:35 And so you look in the mirror and
04:39 really push the envelope to everybody else.
04:43 DeMario was saying it too, look in the mirror.
04:46 And did you do what you did last week this week?
04:49 Or did you just enjoy it, enjoy the week too much or whatever?
04:54 Whatever the case may be, we have a lot of problem solvers,
04:58 not a lot of problem creators in that locker room.
04:59 And Mickey and Dave have done a great job bringing those kind of guys in.
05:03 Michael and Kyle have done a great job of bringing the right guys.
05:06 And so it's up to us as leaders to make sure that we're solving problems
05:11 that we know need to be solved and can be solved.
05:14 >> Derrick, does a short week after a game like this matter in a sense?
05:21 >> Yes. >> You just really flush it really quickly?
05:23 >> Yes, absolutely, cuz I'm gonna get on the bus, I'm gonna get on the plane,
05:28 and I'm gonna begin my preparation for the next game.
05:30 And you don't really get time, whether we won this game or lost it,
05:35 you don't get time to enjoy it or feel sorry for yourself.
05:38 Like I said at the end, nobody cares how you feel.
05:41 You gotta get ready for the next one.
05:43 And so that's what I'll be doing on the plane is preparing,
05:47 making sure I get everything I do in six, seven days, get it done in three or
05:52 four days.
05:53 That's what I have to do this week for sure.
05:56 >> Have you reached a thrown without thinking stage with the shoulder?
06:00 >> Today was the best I felt since it happened, for sure, yeah.
06:04 >> Thank you, Derrick.
06:06 >> Thank you. >> Good, thank you.
