00:07 I'm Adrian Matthews, landlord.
00:10 I'm Sarah Matthews, landlady.
00:12 I'm Eloise Bestrick, the manager.
00:15 Can you tell me a bit about how long you've been here?
00:18 Yeah, we have been here just over 30 years now.
00:22 '93 we came in.
00:25 Had the 30th anniversary party in June, which went really well.
00:31 I've been here for six years.
00:32 Can you tell me a bit about the portland?
00:35 What you think makes it different?
00:37 Well, it's obviously, I mean, I've been here, we've been here 30 years.
00:42 The guy that had it before me were here 17 years.
00:46 The guy before him, Tommy Andrews, had it 50 years.
00:50 So we've only had three landlords in the last nearly 100 years, which not many pubs can
00:58 boast that record.
00:59 Can you tell me a bit about what you offer for the town, what you do in the pub?
01:04 Yeah, we are a traditional pub.
01:08 We do homemade food, traditional food.
01:13 We've got a lot of good regular customers.
01:16 Well, we have all the sports channels for offer and we've got plenty of screens around
01:22 the whole pub.
01:23 We're dog friendly.
01:24 Yeah, have you got any future plans of what you're going to do?
01:31 We are just, we're going to start opening at 10 o'clock every day.
01:38 Starting breakfast until noon, before we start the lunchtime menu.
01:43 So that's starting on Monday.
01:47 Do you have a most popular drink?
01:49 At the minute, yeah, Cruz Campos seems to be flying out at the moment.
01:58 Everyone seems to be enjoying that.
02:01 Carling is the regular.
02:02 We've got 14 draft beers and margars inside us, haven't we?
02:03 We've got a lot of choice.
02:04 How many people do you employ?
02:05 At the minute, I think we've got six.
02:06 We have got a Halloween, a Christmas, a Christmas party.
02:07 So on our Sunday lunches, they are probably one of the busiest days of the week.
02:28 We are nearly fully booked every week.
02:30 So I encourage people to come.
02:32 The Sunday lunches are beautiful.
02:35 We've got a choice of three meats, full of trimmings and everything else.
02:38 We've got desserts, starters, but please book if you do come.
