00:00 Pregnant Jana Kramer cut her babymoon short to spend two days in the hospital being treated
00:06 for kidney infection.
00:07 The 39-year-old country singer, who is already a mother to Jayce Ford and Julia Seven, with
00:13 her ex-husband Mike Cousin, is expecting her first child with current partner Alan Russell.
00:20 They had planned a final holiday in Florida before the birth, but their trip was shortened
00:25 when Jana experienced crippling back pain and had to be admitted to the hospital.
00:33 In a post on Instagram, Jana wrote, "Well, our babymoon didn't go as planned, but there
00:40 were some lessons learned.
00:42 First and foremost, the baby is doing well.
00:45 The back pain I've been dealing with for weeks wasn't just regular back pain.
00:51 Lesson number one, don't dismiss pain because it can be more serious than you think.
00:57 So many times, especially moms, we tend to brush off pain because we are the last ones
01:04 to take care of ourselves."
01:07 Jana revealed she had been experiencing back pain for over a week, but she believed it
01:13 was a typical issue related to her pregnancy until a message from one of her social media
01:19 followers alerted her that it could be more serious.
01:24 She added, "When I posted about my back hurting a week ago, I just chalked it up to pregnancy
01:31 and didn't tell the doctors because back pain is considered normal.
01:36 So I thought I shouldn't complain.
01:38 Then someone very sweet in my DMs sent me a message that it could possibly be my kidney.
01:46 But nothing wanting to ruin our baby moon, or bee, as I can sometimes be.
01:52 We boarded the plane to Florida.
01:54 When we landed, I just couldn't handle the pain anymore, and I started feeling even sicker.
02:01 So we went to the hospital.
02:02 In short, it was a severe bacterial infection that affected the kidneys.
02:08 This led to a two-day stay in the hospital and a prescription for antibiotics because
02:15 I let it go further than I should have."
02:18 She went on to advise others not to delay seeking medical attention when experiencing
02:23 pain.
02:24 Jana concluded, "So the lesson here is to listen to your body.
02:29 You're not a child or causing an inconvenience for people.
02:33 If you are in pain, talk to your doctor.
02:36 Neglecting health concerns for too long or not taking care of yourself when you're unwell
02:42 can lead to serious issues.
02:45 Also, a shout out to this amazing man who I begged to sleep at the lovely hotel he arranged
02:52 for us, but instead slept on a pull-out chair.
02:56 Tip, a shout out to the nurses at Code Samaritain Hospital in West Palm.
03:02 You were the sweetest."
