Birmingham headlines 17 October: Yardley hit-and-run: Two people arrested as man in serious condition following collision
Two people were arrested after a man was left with serious injuries in a road traffic collision in Yardley. The incident took place in Selby Close just after 5pm last Friday. This was the third serious crash in the city in the last four days, resulting in the death of two people.

A man who lured a woman to an address on the pretence of renting out a room in Handsworth and then sexually assaulted her has been jailed. Naveed Hussain, aged 33, was sentenced to 15 years in jail and ordered to be put on the sex offender's register for life.

The opening date for Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight's multimillion-pound TV and film studio in Digbeth has an opening date. Set to open next year, Digbeth Loc Studios is expected to contribute more than £30m to the local economy and create 760 local jobs.
