00:02 - Welcome to this week's Goldmouth Action Podcast,
00:19 where we take a look at all the latest goings on
00:20 at Brighton and Hove Abbey in Crawley Town
00:22 and Sport in Sussex.
00:23 I'm Matt Pole and I'm joined by Crawley Town expert,
00:25 Mark Dunford, Sussex Sport guru, Steve Bone,
00:27 and Sam Morton, who covers Brighton and Hove Abbey
00:30 and the Reds.
00:31 There was FA Cup delight for two of our teams
00:32 in the fourth qualifying round on Saturday.
00:34 We'll pick over the bones of an excellent weekend
00:36 for Horsham and Worthing and take a look at the draw
00:38 for the first round proper,
00:39 which also involves Crawley Town.
00:41 Meanwhile, both Brighton and the Reds
00:42 return to competitive action this week
00:44 after the international break.
00:45 We'll preview Albion's league game against Man City
00:47 and their Europa League encounter with Ajax,
00:49 along with the Reds' league two clashes
00:51 against Crewe and Walsall.
00:52 You can read all the stories we were talking about
00:54 with videos and pictures online

01:03 But starting with this weekend's FA Cup clashes,
01:05 Horsham FC provided a shock,
01:07 beating National League outfit Dorking 2-0 at home
01:10 in front of a sellout crowd.
01:11 I don't think many of us were predicting
01:13 a win for Horsham in general, Steve,
01:15 but to do it in such a convincing manner
01:17 was probably even more of a shock.
01:19 - Yeah, we talked about the three games
01:22 with the Sussex teams last week on this podcast, didn't we?
01:25 And we said Worthing, we felt, had a very good chance.
01:27 We didn't really give Horsham too much of a chance
01:30 against a team who play two divisions above them,
01:32 but a pretty comfortable win, really.
01:36 And I'm going to spin it around in a minute
01:37 because I know you're the host here, but you were there.
01:41 Yeah, fantastic for Horsham to reach the first round
01:44 second time in three years.
01:46 You know, there are clubs at their level
01:47 that never seem to get to the first round.
01:49 You know, I can think of one who hasn't been there
01:51 since 1995, who I won't name here.
01:54 But yeah, professional performance in front of a big crowd.
01:57 And I mean, you tell us, was it as comfortable
02:00 as the scoreline in match reports suggest?
02:02 - Yes, it was indeed.
02:04 No hyperbole when Horsham should have been
02:06 at least 4-0 up at half time.
02:07 They had a perfectly good goal,
02:09 well, I thought perfectly good goal ruled out for offside.
02:12 Very strange seeing the fourth official
02:14 and the mini version of VAR being used at Horsham's level.
02:18 But I was very disappointed with Dawkin.
02:21 They didn't really trouble Horsham.
02:22 And I think on the day, if you'd said
02:23 which one is the National League club
02:25 and which one is the Ispian Premier Club,
02:27 I don't think you'd been able to say that Dawkin
02:29 with that National League team
02:30 and Horsham with the Ispian Premier one,
02:32 which I'm sure would probably rankle a little bit
02:34 with Dawkin manager, Mark White, wouldn't it, Steve?
02:36 He had some choice words for the players after the game.
02:39 If you can repeat any of what he said,
02:42 what was the general gist of what he had to say
02:44 after the loss against Horsham?
02:45 - Yeah, he's gone viral for it.
02:47 And if you go viral as a football manager,
02:49 it's either very good news or very bad news.
02:51 And for Mark White, it's very bad news.
02:54 He absolutely ripped into his players.
02:56 When you've said there that they didn't really show up,
02:59 didn't turn up for what was a big game for them.
03:01 You know, there's a lot of money at stake
03:02 if you get through to the first round.
03:04 And he basically said they weren't very good,
03:07 but he used a lot of swear words in doing so.
03:10 A lot of people picked up on it.
03:11 And fans were split in their reaction to what he said.
03:15 Some were saying he was just too personal
03:18 and is that a good way to manage players?
03:20 You know, are they then gonna do it for him next game?
03:22 Others said quite right.
03:23 You know, if they've, they get paid okay at that level.
03:27 If they've not turned up for a big game,
03:30 if they've not put the effort in,
03:31 then they deserve to be sworn at in that manner.
03:34 So you can look at it both ways.
03:35 But yeah, it gave us a good story on Sussex World
03:38 and I'm sure it amused a few Horsham fans as well.
03:42 - Mark, as someone who's had to deal with someone
03:44 who's quite opinionated in the past at Crawley Town
03:48 without mentioning any names,
03:49 then what's it like dealing with a manager like that?
03:51 - I kind of like it 'cause I like a manager being honest.
03:57 You like a manager coming up and just saying
03:59 what they think, not getting the usual media trained manager
04:02 saying, "Oh, it was a game of two halves, blah, blah, blah.
04:04 "Proud of my players, blah, blah, blah."
04:06 But he went to, I personally think he went too far.
04:12 And yeah, you've got to try and keep your players on side,
04:16 I think, to some extent.
04:17 Yes, criticize them.
04:18 Scott Lindsay, we'll get onto it later.
04:21 But Scott Lindsay on Tuesday night,
04:23 he had a few choice words to say about his players,
04:25 but he kept it professional as he talked about them.
04:29 I mean, I think he wanted to do a Mark White,
04:31 but he didn't.
04:32 But Mark White is a funny one, isn't he?
04:34 'Cause I've seen him, I follow them on TikTok and that.
04:38 And does he do it just for the publicity
04:41 and for the clicks and for the views?
04:43 I don't know.
04:45 Yeah, I mean, I might be doing him a disservice there.
04:48 He might just be an honest cheeky chappy kind of thing.
04:51 But I don't know, part of me is a little bit cynical
04:53 about he knew he was going to go viral
04:55 with this kind of thing.
04:57 - Oh, see, I'm going to say the opposite.
04:59 That Dorking generally were,
05:00 considering they were a National League team
05:01 against an Isby and Premier team,
05:03 they were rotten against Horsham on Saturday.
05:05 And I think any kind of criticism,
05:07 although you could say the language he used
05:08 was probably a bit much,
05:09 I think it was very much warranted,
05:10 especially when they had a former Crawley Town player,
05:14 Mark George-Frank, come up right back.
05:16 - Yeah, he certainly was their best player, didn't he?
05:20 - Yeah, it was great.
05:20 He was really, really good.
05:21 It's just a shame that no one else seemed to turn up.
05:24 Huge result for Horsham,
05:25 which we'll come onto later in the grand scheme of things.
05:28 But yeah, also in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round,
05:31 Wything joined Horsham in the first round proper,
05:33 courtesy of a 2-0 home win
05:35 over National League South Rivals Bath City.
05:38 It seemed like another excellent performance
05:39 of Adam Hincham with Boyd Steve, didn't it?
05:42 - It was, actually.
05:43 They were very thin on the ground in terms of players.
05:47 They actually only had two senior fit defenders
05:50 for that game,
05:52 both of whom played in the middle of defence,
05:53 and they put Kane Wills back in a back three.
05:56 He was normally more used to playing midfield,
05:58 and they then used two more attacking players as wing backs.
06:02 So to have that sort of makeshift defence
06:04 against a team from your own division
06:05 who have also started the season quite well,
06:08 makes it hard.
06:09 Tight first half, and then Wything scored twice
06:12 in a bit like Horsham in the first half.
06:14 Wything early in the second half,
06:16 two goals from Danny Cashman,
06:17 and they were, I think, were pretty comfortable after that.
06:20 For Wything, that's first time in the first round since 1999.
06:25 Adam Hincham had said afterwards
06:27 he was still at school last time they got that far.
06:29 Not sure if that's quite right, but he may be.
06:31 He must be younger than I thought, if so.
06:33 But yeah, great for them.
06:36 We'll talk about the draw in a minute,
06:39 but they've not got a glamorous tie in the first round.
06:43 They're away to Alfredton,
06:45 and it's a game that they can win.
06:47 So they've now got to think,
06:48 "Right, let's do that again
06:49 and get through to the second round if we can
06:51 and get some more prize money in the bank."
06:53 But yeah, well done to Wything.
06:54 - Before we move on to the first round proper draw,
06:56 Lewis were also in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round.
06:59 They're away at fellow National League outfit Aldershot Town.
07:02 Unfortunately, there was no fairytale win for Lewis.
07:05 They were beaten 4-1 by the Shots, commiseration to Lewis.
07:09 But for the teams that are left in the first round proper
07:11 of our non-league sides,
07:13 the draw was made on Monday,
07:15 and one of our non-league clubs can look forward
07:16 to a bigger way there to a League One
07:18 and form a Premier League club, can't they, Steve?
07:19 Tell us a little bit more about the draw, Steve.
07:22 And yes.
07:23 - Barnsley versus Horsham came out of the hat.
07:28 I know you were pleased because that's almost local
07:31 compared to Carlisle away,
07:32 which you went to a couple of years ago.
07:35 - Yes, we were pleased to be a bit closer to home.
07:38 It's a great tie for them, isn't it, Barns?
07:40 As Don has said to you this week,
07:43 Barnsley are the third highest ranked team in the next round
07:46 by virtue of the fact that they're currently third
07:48 in League One.
07:49 Not so long ago, they were in the championship.
07:51 For those with longer memories,
07:52 they were in the Premier League for a couple of years
07:53 back in the late '90s.
07:55 So it's a proper club,
07:57 real big ground for Horsham to go to.
07:59 They will take a massive number of travelling fans,
08:02 I would think, waiting to see if it's going to be on TV.
08:06 I would have thought there's a fair chance it could be.
08:10 You know, BBC or ITV might be interested in that one.
08:14 And what a great day out.
08:14 I mean, you wouldn't give Horsham much of a chance
08:16 against a team who are that many divisions above them.
08:20 But yeah, a great occasion for them,
08:23 chance to earn some more money,
08:25 hopefully a bit of TV money as well,
08:26 and really want to look forward to for them.
08:29 - And Worthing, Steve, who do they end up?
08:31 You mentioned it probably won't be glamorous,
08:32 but it's very much winnable for them.
08:34 - It's Alfredton town away.
08:37 Alfredton's up north somewhere.
08:38 I think, I mean,
08:39 everything north of the South Downs is up north, isn't it?
08:41 So we'll say it's up north.
08:43 I think it's sort of Derbyshire way.
08:45 - Derby way, yeah.
08:47 - Yeah.
08:48 So it's a team they won't have played before
08:50 and probably don't know too much about.
08:52 But Alfredton are National League north,
08:54 so same step as Worthing,
08:56 currently 10th in their table, doing okay.
08:58 I mean, it's a long journey.
09:00 That could, you know,
09:02 Worthing aren't used to going that far for an away game,
09:04 so that could count against them.
09:06 But Adam Hinch, as always,
09:08 will do his homework on Alfredton.
09:10 And I'm sure they'll go up there
09:13 thinking they've got a chance
09:14 and maybe they'll get them back down
09:16 to Woodside Road for a replay.
09:18 But it'd be great to see Worthing in the second round.
09:20 - I saw, I spoke to Adam on Tuesday night
09:24 after they beat Crawley in the Senior Cup,
09:27 and he was saying that the great thing is
09:29 there's going to be a step-six side in the second round,
09:31 whatever happens,
09:32 and both sides will think they can win it,
09:34 which is going to make for a great tie.
09:37 So it's, yeah, really interesting.
09:38 One bit less hope Worthing get through.
09:40 It'd be great.
09:41 - Without meaning-
09:42 - Throw it out of their press box
09:43 for when they get Portsmouth at home in the second round.
09:46 - We'll come onto that in the second half, Mark, don't worry.
09:48 But without meaning to turn this
09:50 into the Horsham FC podcast,
09:52 would there be slight disappointment?
09:54 I know that obviously it's a big tie playing Barnsley,
09:55 but Steve, do you think it'd be disappointing
09:57 if for television's sake,
09:59 they end up playing them on a Friday evening
10:01 or a Monday evening due to the whims of television?
10:04 - I suppose it'd make it harder for the fans
10:06 'cause it is a long way to go,
10:07 and it will probably mean there are some fans
10:09 that can't go, you know, if it's a working day.
10:12 But for the club,
10:13 if you look at the bigger picture for the club,
10:15 the money they would make from it being on TV
10:18 would probably make that worth it.
10:20 And it's a bit more exposure,
10:22 and it's a chance for any fans who can't make it
10:25 to watch it live,
10:26 and they might not be able to otherwise.
10:27 So I think on balance,
10:29 they would probably rather have it on TV.
10:32 - Well, selfishly, I'd rather they had it
10:35 at Saturday at three o'clock,
10:36 but we'll have to wait and see.
10:37 Why don't we just get-
10:38 - As it should be, yeah.
10:39 - Oh, well, quite right to, Steve.
10:42 Yes, but Crawley Town, as mentioned,
10:44 are also in the first round proper.
10:45 What's the reaction to their draw then, Mark?
10:49 It's not been quite with the same giddy reaction
10:51 that Horsham Barnsley has received, is it?
10:54 - No, yeah, so they've got not to count it away,
10:56 not to count it, obviously,
10:57 currently I think they're second or third
10:59 in the League Two table.
11:00 They're second, sorry.
11:03 And yeah, Crawley face them away
11:06 at the end of the month as well.
11:07 So they've played, traveled to Notts County twice
11:09 in three weeks, I think it is.
11:11 So yeah, the fans straight away would just lie,
11:14 "Oh, that's an atrocious draw.
11:15 We never get a good draw in the FA Cup."
11:16 I think it's, I think I saw a stat,
11:18 something along the lines of 10 of the last 11 games
11:21 have been against teams in their league or higher.
11:25 And they just don't seem to get that nice,
11:27 easy first round draw.
11:28 You wanna be at home, don't you, in the first round
11:32 if you're gonna draw someone in your own league.
11:34 But Notts County, they're gonna be,
11:36 they're looking to win the league
11:38 and get promoted this year.
11:39 So whether they see the FA Cup as disposable
11:42 and think they won't take it as seriously,
11:44 Scott Lindsay will go out there wanting to win.
11:46 Scott Lindsay was quite diplomatic saying that
11:49 it's their way of saying they've gotta play good teams
11:52 to get better.
11:53 But I don't know if he was particularly happy with the draw.
11:56 - Well, we'll talk a little bit more about Crawley
11:59 after the break and we'll also discuss Brighton,
12:02 a huge week for Brighton,
12:03 where they take on Man City and Ajax in the Europa League.
12:06 This week sees Brighton and Hoverby return to action
12:08 following an imposed hiatus due to the international break.
12:11 Roberto Giuseppe's men visit a Manchester City side reeling
12:14 after a 1-0 defeat at Arsenal.
12:17 How do you see this one going, Sam?
12:19 And should the Seagulls be wary of a wounded Man City?
12:23 - Absolutely.
12:24 Yeah, I think Man City are obviously coming into the game
12:26 on a really bad run of form, really,
12:28 which is really unlike them.
12:30 They've only won, obviously, in Europe recently
12:33 and had two consecutive defeats in the Premier League,
12:35 obviously, against Wolves and then Arsenal.
12:40 So it's a real tough game for Brighton
12:44 because, as you say,
12:45 they're coming up against a wounded animal in Man City
12:47 that are gonna be desperate to put things right
12:49 and to get things back on track.
12:51 But then Brighton, obviously, will be coming into the game
12:54 with a bit more confidence
12:55 after that good result against Liverpool.
12:57 And they probably should have won that game
12:59 when you look back at the chances they had
13:01 and obviously the capitulation they had
13:03 at the end of that first half defensively.
13:06 But I can see a high-scoring game
13:08 and it could really go either way.
13:09 So one really to look forward to for the fans.
13:12 - I'll ask you for your score prediction
13:14 at the end of the podcast.
13:15 But Albi and then-host Ajax in their third game
13:18 of their inaugural Europa League campaign
13:19 on Thursday evening.
13:20 The Seagulls are bottom of the group,
13:22 but are they just three points adrift
13:23 of group leaders, AK Athens?
13:25 So how imperative, Sam, is it that Brighton get the win
13:28 against Nikeside, who is seemingly in free fall
13:31 at the moment, if you'd read anything in the press?
13:34 - Yeah, and Ajax are extremely, just not themselves,
13:37 you would say, just really, really struggling
13:39 in the league this season.
13:41 I think when you look at the squad,
13:42 it's nowhere near as impressive
13:44 as it has been in recent seasons.
13:46 And obviously, they really have had all of their
13:48 kind of top players taken away from them, really.
13:51 And it may be a similar way to Brighton,
13:52 but Brighton seem to be able to cope with it.
13:55 It definitely seems that Ajax are suffering
13:57 from the effects of their players being taken.
14:00 And they really are struggling in the league
14:02 and things aren't going to plan for them.
14:04 So it is a great opportunity for Brighton,
14:06 obviously playing them at home first,
14:08 to get a much-needed win in the group.
14:11 It was vital to get that point at Marseille
14:13 in the previous game, to kind of keep their hopes alive.
14:16 And now they really have to back that up, I think,
14:18 and get their first win of the campaign
14:20 against an Ajax team that are really struggling.
14:23 And it's a kind of perfect opportunity, really.
14:26 And if you get a win at home,
14:27 suddenly the group is extremely favourable for Albion,
14:30 and they can then potentially get a draw away as well,
14:33 and it's completely in their hands.
14:35 So, yeah, another game I'm really looking forward
14:37 to watching.
14:38 It's difficult, because I think it's difficult
14:41 to say Brighton should be favourites
14:42 in a game against Ajax.
14:44 It seems crazy to say.
14:45 And it just, yes, he's mad,
14:47 but we kind of had that against Athens
14:49 in the first game, where Brighton were obviously
14:51 the clear favourites to win that game,
14:53 but then really shouldn't have been
14:54 when it was their first ever Europa League game.
14:56 So much pressure without the captain,
14:58 Lewis Duncombe, on the night.
14:59 So all sorts of pressures for Brighton,
15:03 that element of expectation might not be too good.
15:06 I think sometimes Brighton play better
15:08 when they're a little bit of the underdogs.
15:10 So it'll be interesting to see, but yeah, again,
15:13 I'm really looking forward to watching
15:14 and seeing how Brighton get on.
15:16 - Draw not good enough for it?
15:18 - I think it needs to be a win.
15:20 I think definitely at home.
15:21 I think a draw away would be good,
15:23 but at home, I think a win's needed.
15:25 I think obviously after the loss against Athens,
15:27 the draw at Marseille, I think they need a win.
15:30 They need a win, and I think it's a good opportunity
15:32 to do it at home with a crowd behind them
15:35 against a team completely out of confidence.
15:37 So I think get a win at home,
15:39 and then try and nick a draw away,
15:40 and I think it'll be in their hands.
15:42 - Yeah, four points in those two games
15:45 would be a pretty good result, wouldn't it,
15:46 for the Derby, I think.
15:48 - Well, I think if they finished third,
15:49 don't they get into the,
15:51 I can't even think what it's called,
15:52 Conference League or something like that,
15:54 which is quite winnable, I suppose, for them.
15:55 So yeah, still plenty to play for.
15:58 Speaking of Lewis Dunk, as Sam mentioned,
16:01 he started for England
16:01 in their friendly against Australia.
16:04 Did anyone watch it?
16:05 And if so, if you did watch it, how did they get on?
16:08 (laughing)
16:10 Okay, cool.
16:11 Anyone watch it at all?
16:12 - I saw bits of it.
16:13 I saw bits of it.
16:14 Yeah, and I was busy that evening
16:15 so I didn't get to watch all of it,
16:16 but I watched the highlights
16:18 and obviously read all the reports,
16:19 and Lewis Dunk got all the praise again,
16:22 and it just goes to show that it's a farce
16:25 that he hasn't been in the team before now,
16:27 to be honest,
16:28 and he's just proving why he should have been there
16:31 a long time ago.
16:33 He's class, really.
16:34 He kind of brings that composure to the team,
16:37 brings that kind of derby ball to the team,
16:39 and yeah, he's an excellent player,
16:42 and obviously got man the match on,
16:43 on the night as well,
16:44 and got a clean sheet.
16:46 So, fantastic, really.
16:47 I think he nearly got a clean sheet
16:48 in the previous game as well.
16:49 I think it was an own goal that kind of robbed him a bit.
16:50 So, yeah, really good,
16:52 really good performance from Dunk,
16:53 and hopefully he's a mainstay in the team
16:56 now going forward.
16:58 - Yeah, I wouldn't get any hopes up
16:59 considering Southgate loves Maguire,
17:01 but that's probably a question to ask
17:04 on a different podcast, isn't it?
17:06 Anyway, moving on to Crawley Town.
17:08 As mentioned, they were without a league fixture
17:09 this weekend due to the international break,
17:11 but they did travel to Worthing
17:12 in the Sussex Senior Cup and Bowl accounts.
17:15 Mark, they enjoyed a bit of a nightmare, didn't they?
17:17 Tell us about the game at Worthing, please.
17:19 - Yeah, anything that could go wrong
17:22 went wrong at Worthing for Crawley on Tuesday.
17:26 They lost 6-2 in the end.
17:27 They took the lead through Adeyemo,
17:30 who looked really good.
17:31 Then Jesse Stark equalised
17:33 with an absolute stunning strike,
17:34 30-0, 25-yard, 30-yard,
17:36 found the ball top corner.
17:38 Then Adeyemo scored again,
17:39 and you just thought, oh, Crawley are just, yeah,
17:42 they'll tighten up and they'll just see this out,
17:44 but no, they let him,
17:46 Jay Robinson scored a quick brace,
17:48 and then it started getting even worse.
17:50 Harry Ransom limped off.
17:53 Then Adeyemo, who looked like he took a knock
17:55 quite early on, and I think it was due to the pitch,
17:57 'cause they were playing on 4G,
17:58 obviously they don't play on that normally.
18:01 Yeah, and then the second half,
18:04 then you saw Travis Johnson petulantly get sent off.
18:10 It looked like he grabbed Bailey Smith around the neck
18:13 and pushed him over.
18:15 And yeah, he got sent off,
18:17 and then it all just went wrong,
18:18 and Worthing just were ruthless.
18:19 They just went out and just destroyed Crawley in the end,
18:22 and there was just no,
18:23 I don't know what it was with Crawley.
18:25 They just looked like they didn't want to be there,
18:27 and I think they're gonna regret the decision
18:30 to swap the fixture,
18:31 'cause it was originally a home tie for Crawley,
18:33 and they swapped it to Worthing,
18:35 and 'cause not only did they lose,
18:38 they played on a pitch which looks like
18:40 it cost them two players.
18:41 Adiemo looks like he could be absolute quality,
18:44 but he's just come back from a long injury,
18:46 and this one looked quite rough.
18:48 Sam put up a picture with his story
18:50 with him being carried off.
18:52 He couldn't walk off.
18:53 He was, yeah, that bad.
18:55 So yeah, it was a bit of a disaster, really,
18:58 and yeah, I mean, I might pass it over to Sam, actually,
19:02 for what Scott Lindsey said after the game,
19:04 'cause he didn't go full mark quite,
19:06 but he went as close as he possibly could.
19:10 - Yeah, no, he did.
19:12 He was the most angry I've ever seen him, to be honest.
19:16 I think I obviously saw that clip
19:17 after the preseason friendly against Portsmouth,
19:19 where he completely lost it,
19:20 and I ended up having to talk to Spock on the phone,
19:23 saying they wanted to talk about it,
19:25 'cause it was that crazy, what he was saying.
19:27 Obviously, he said that there were players
19:28 that would never play for the club again,
19:30 and still to this day, we don't know
19:32 who those players were,
19:33 and if they have played for them again,
19:34 but it was kind of a similar kind of interview, really,
19:38 where he said the players just weren't ready for the game.
19:42 They said they hadn't prepared for it,
19:43 and they were unprofessional,
19:45 and it seemed he was kind of implying
19:46 that they thought that Worthing would be a walkover,
19:48 and they didn't really prepare
19:50 like they should have done for the game.
19:52 So they weren't running, they weren't trying,
19:54 they were hiding, basically,
19:56 and it was, yeah, really damning, really.
19:58 He didn't look good on the players at all,
20:00 and yeah, he said that the players
20:02 had been knocking on his door to say
20:03 they should be next in line to be in the team,
20:05 and he said they won't have any excuse
20:07 to do that again now, which is, yeah,
20:10 pretty firm stance from him, really,
20:13 and yeah, I think it's a bit worrying
20:15 that Crawley's backup team is, in his mind,
20:18 not good enough, that his first team
20:20 he's obviously happy with,
20:21 but when he gets a few injuries,
20:22 and clearly he's not happy with who he has to rely on
20:25 to come in for them,
20:26 so a bit concerning from that point of view.
20:29 So it'd be interesting to see what happens going forward,
20:32 and if the players can make amends
20:34 that really didn't turn up against Worming.
20:37 - Are we expecting a massive reaction
20:39 from him on Saturday against Crewe,
20:40 and then a Wyatt Walsall on Tuesday, Mark?
20:42 - Yeah, I think so.
20:44 I don't think you'll see any, apart from maybe Will Wright,
20:47 you won't see any of that team anywhere near the first team,
20:50 maybe on the subs bench, obviously, on Saturday,
20:52 but it was interesting.
20:54 Clydie Lollos didn't play,
20:56 but I assume he's gonna be starting against Crewe this week
20:59 because Adam Campbell,
21:01 who was a victim of that horrific challenge
21:02 against Wrexham that's all the sending off,
21:04 he got ligament damage,
21:05 so he's out, I think he said,
21:07 four to six weeks, maybe longer.
21:10 So, yeah, but yeah, they need a big reaction
21:14 'cause obviously the last home league game as well,
21:15 they lost one nil to Wrexham.
21:17 So they need a big change.
21:20 The Crewe won't be easy.
21:21 Crewe are the top scorers in the league.
21:23 We know Crawley have leaked goals a little bit.
21:26 They've shored up recently a little bit more,
21:28 but yeah, it'll be a good entertaining game,
21:31 but yeah, Lindsay won't let anything like that happen again
21:34 from what he said.
21:35 But yeah, those players that played on Tuesday night,
21:41 they've got a chance to redeem themselves
21:43 and the EFL trophy against Aston Villa
21:45 in a couple of weeks time as well.
21:47 So, but yeah, no, it won't be easy against Crewe.
21:52 They've got Mickey Dimitri,
21:54 former Newport County from Arshawes.
21:57 He was a former Worthing player, I think,
21:58 or he comes from this way, and Bogner.
22:00 - Bogner. - Yeah, and Bogner as well.
22:02 Thank you, Steve.
22:04 He scored five goals already from the center of defense.
22:06 Well, I think, I understand that Crawley wanted him
22:09 in the summer, but he chose Crewe,
22:11 and obviously they've got Jack Powell as well,
22:12 Crawley's player of the year.
22:14 And when they come up against Walsall,
22:15 they've got Isaac Hutchinson,
22:17 who used to play for Crawley as well,
22:18 and he scored a hat-trick at the last time out for Walsall.
22:21 Yeah, it's not gonna be an easy few days for Crawley,
22:24 but yeah, Scott Lindsay will get a reaction out of this team.
22:27 - Excellent, and with that in mind,
22:28 shall we have a stroll down Steve Bones' score prediction
22:31 corner, starting with Man City, Brighton, Sam Morton.
22:34 How do you see that one going?
22:36 - I think with a high scoring game,
22:37 I think Brighton have obviously struggled
22:38 to keep clean sheets this season,
22:40 so I don't see that happening away at Man City.
22:43 And Man City are gonna be desperate for a win,
22:45 so I think it'll be three-two, Man City.
22:47 - Ooh, Steve, how do you see it going at the Etihad?
22:49 - For the first time this season,
22:51 I'm not predicting a Brighton draw.
22:54 I'm going Man City one, Brighton two.
22:58 - Ooh.
22:59 - I think City's woes to continue.
23:02 - Mark, do you have Steve Bones' optimism?
23:05 - No, I'm going four-two, Man City.
23:07 (laughing)
23:09 - I genuinely think City might end up scoring five,
23:11 but we will wait and see.
23:13 Then we've got Brighton Ajax on Thursday, Mark.
23:17 How's it going for Brighton against Brighton?
23:17 - Two-nil Brighton, they've gotta come out and win.
23:20 I'm going for a two-nil Brighton win.
23:21 Ajax seem like a shambles at the moment.
23:24 - Mr. Bone?
23:25 - I think I'm back to predicting draws now.
23:28 I think they need to win,
23:30 but I think they might struggle one-all.
23:33 - And Sam Morton?
23:34 - I think two-one Brighton.
23:36 Again, I think they'll concede,
23:37 as they just seem to concede in every game this season.
23:39 But yeah, they score in every game as well,
23:41 so I think they'll make it win.
23:43 I think two-one.
23:45 - And as we're quite pushed for time,
23:46 we'll do it together.
23:47 Crawley's game against Crewe,
23:48 and then Walsall-Crawley.
23:50 Steve, yeah, how do you see those two games going?
23:52 - I think they'll beat Crewe three-one,
23:54 and I think they'll lose two-nil at Walsall.
23:56 - Sam Morton?
23:57 - I think they'll draw Crewe two-two,
24:02 and they'll win one-nil at Walsall.
24:06 - And Mark Dunford with the final word.
24:08 - I'm going three-one against Crewe at home.
24:10 They're gonna win,
24:11 and it'll be a one-all draw away at Walsall.
24:13 That's what I'm going for.
24:15 - Excellent stuff.
