Dramatic video from Storm Babet in Johnshaven Aberdeenshire
Transcript
00:00 I'm Alison Camsley from the Scotsman down at John's Haven in Scotland, I'm in Leinshire.
00:05 The waves are extremely high, the wind's about 67mph coming from the east, sea floats coming in,
00:17 there's a windstorm, we should be able to see another.
00:20 It all just points to something extremely challenging that's coming our way today.
00:26 The Red Horn is coming in for a rain at about 6pm, we're on an upper for wind at the moment,
00:31 I think the wind's actually dropped over the course of the day.
00:35 But the main thing I think for me anyway is that it's going to be high tides at about 5pm.
00:44 So yeah, some really challenging conditions coming our way.
00:49 The schools are shut, I heard that Angus schools were due to be closing at 12pm, I think that might have changed.
00:56 But on the course, obviously we're used to pretty dry conditions, there's some things that are really challenging.
01:04 I don't know if you can see this, I'm just going to try and show you what's at my feet here.
01:17 I don't know if you can see.
01:19 Yep, not loud, a lot of people out today.
01:32 Binmansville out, Fishwam was still out.
01:35 But yeah, great sense of people sitting back there by the hatches.
01:39 John Hayman Harbour, South Aberdeenshire.
01:46 You can see it on the boots.
01:49 We're used to wild days down here, but this is set in the middle of nowhere.
01:56 There's one thing, there's like a camera on the top of the boat, like it's going to get extremely challenging.
02:12 Oh wow, it's quite cold even.
02:16 This is some cold tides, my tide's at 5.
02:21 It's cold, the sea's fricking up.
02:24 The harbour's still relatively empty.
02:29 [Music plays]
