00:02 The Life at Work Awards night,
00:05 LAWA 2023 hosted by Talent Corp,
00:08 makes a timely comeback with much glitz and glam
00:11 as 700 guests cheered with loud applause
00:14 to celebrate visionary employers
00:15 who have made remarkable strides
00:17 in championing diversity, equity and inclusion,
00:20 DEI in work-life practices.
00:23 These companies included those from financial services,
00:26 professional services, oil and gas,
00:29 construction, manufacturing, global business services,
00:33 healthcare, fast moving consumer goods,
00:35 retail, tourism and information technology.
00:39 The winners serve as inspirational benchmarks
00:42 for organizations seeking to enhance their dedication
00:45 to their employees and the broader workforce.
00:48 Talent Corp Group CEO Thomas Matthew says,
00:51 the LAWA initiative is the organization's commitment
00:54 to establishing an inclusive environment
00:57 where all employees, regardless of their backgrounds,
01:00 will not only prosper,
01:01 but also realize their fullest potential.
01:04 - Then came the digital and social era,
01:06 the generation of today,
01:07 where jobs are no more a means to an end.
01:11 And CHRs are dumbfounded to be honest.
01:15 They're finding it difficult to comprehend
01:17 and pace themselves to this generation's wants.
01:22 Building wealth is not a priority to them.
01:26 It is the workplace philosophies
01:28 that clearly needs to align with their values.
01:31 Job satisfaction, work-life balance,
01:33 globally benchmarked workplace culture,
01:36 supported by continuous learning.
01:38 In short, for them, a better world,
01:41 clear purpose and personal growth.
01:44 A source of distress, however, for some of us parents.
01:47 So it is crucial that we establish mechanisms
01:50 to support this new generation and beyond.
01:53 Otherwise, the constant struggle to attract
01:55 and retain talent will prevail.
01:58 - Matthew added the organization's commitment
02:00 to increasing female workforce participation
02:03 through various initiatives,
02:05 including childcare centers
02:06 and workshops on flexible work arrangements.
02:10 Guest of Honor, Human Resource Minister V. Sivakumar,
02:14 in his speech echoed the call for more women participation
02:17 according to the Madani Economic Framework.
02:20 - To raise the female labor force participation
02:23 rate to 60%.
02:27 We are fully committed by supporting women returning to work.
02:32 And I'm delighted to share the tax incentives
02:37 offered under the Career Comeback Program by TalentCorps
02:41 will be extended until 31st December, 2027.
02:46 (audience applauding)
