00:00 Children across Greater Manchester are breaking up for half term today on the 20th of October
00:06 and attractions around the region will be hosting plenty of activities to keep them
00:11 entertained. We compiled a list of some of the best places to get involved in the festivities
00:16 during the autumn break.
00:19 First up is Spookfest at the Trafford Centre, running from the 13th to the 31st of October.
00:25 Enjoy exhilarating funfair rides, a towering pumpkin tower, a spooktacular show, fearsome
00:31 face painting and creepy costume characters for the ultimate Halloween family day out.
00:37 For something a little less spooky, the Trafford Centre Selfridges is also hosting half term
00:42 fun for little ones throughout the autumn break.
00:46 Meet Bluey on Wednesday the 25th of October and JJ from Cocoa Melon on the 26th.
00:53 And Selfridges key holders will have even more activities to get involved with.
00:57 After you've exhausted the kids at one of the activities, why not head down to the Real
01:02 Greek at the Trafford Centre for a bite to eat, as kids eat free for every £10 you spend
01:08 from Monday the 23rd to Sunday the 29th.
01:11 If you're still in the festive mood this autumn break, why not take a trip to a pumpkin patch
01:16 and select your very own pumpkin for carving, eating and displaying around your home.
01:21 High Ash Farm near Macclesfield has a unique indoor pumpkin maze filled with 35 types of
01:27 squash as well as sheepdog demonstrations and delicious pumpkin inspired food and drink,
01:33 making it the ultimate family friendly day out.
01:37 The farm will be open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of half term week for families
01:42 to get involved.
01:43 For something slightly more local to Manchester, head to Dunham Pumpkins near Altrincham.
01:48 This year over 30,000 pumpkins were planted and you can get your very own pumpkin picking
01:54 experience at the farm, as well as enjoying a bumpy wagon train ride.
01:59 Next up on the list is Trafford Palazzo's Halloween half term hangout.
02:03 The Halloween spooktacular is perfect for all the family and as a bonus is completely
02:08 free.
02:09 Hunt monsters, hang out with reptiles, make spooky crafts and dance at the silent disco
02:15 between the 21st and 28th of October.
02:18 If you're looking for a unique place to explore, why not try out Cheetham's Library Magic Makers
02:23 on the 26th of October.
02:25 All sorts of Halloween themed activities will be available, including arts and crafts and
02:30 a scavenger hunt about cats.
02:32 And don't forget to dress up for the occasion in your best costumes.
02:37 Towards the end of half term, Halloween in the city is returning with a monstrous line
02:41 up of free family friendly activities.
02:44 Thousands of families are expected to head into the city wearing their spookiest costumes
02:50 for the free two day event over the weekend of Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th of
02:55 October.
